You got to remember that it's loading more textures due to higher resolution and HDR enabled on the game . 35 seconds is actually freaking amazing to load the entire chapter with no loading times in between.

So you're comparing a closed system with 8GB of ram to an open system customizable up to 16GB or 32GB of ram gaming PC? It's not really a fair comparison, if you ask me.

How is having more ram going to affect loading times? If anything loading less into system ram at startup will make initial loading times shorter. Unless of course they use something like a windows page file for a ton of data, I doubt they would do that on console. The pro also has an extra gig of ram to help cope with the higher resolutions (it's actually used for the system and not the games, but it frees up a gig for games as well).

I'm getting a PS4 PRO regardless, since all games will take advantage of it 2017 and beyond.

Look at how much you're willing to spend and see what kinds of 4K HDR tvs out there. Then, is there a specific model that you like that's above your budget that you can save up and get at a later time? Or, you can wait till Black Friday or near X-mas.

Check viewing distances. At 7 or 8 feet there's no point in upgrading to a 50" 4K TV. However, if you're going to sacrifice picture quality to get something cheaper at 60-65", that's not really worth it either.

If you're willing to put in the money, a nice $700-1000 can get you a good 60" 4K TV,. If that's out of your budget you should probably hold off a year or two. Because of HDR, 4K, and OLED all hitting TVs around the same time, prices are dropping like crazy. We managed to snag a fairly high end 55" 1080p set for $275. Personally, I would stick with your 1080p TV for a little while longer while keeping your eyes out for a 4K TV that you feel is good value for your money and not a "cheap" one. You must be aware of latency that HDR can introduce to gaming and too much latency will really spoil the gaming experience so do your homework.

Ask the question. "What do I predominately use my TV for anyway?"

If you have two or more people in your household and you are the one who likes games while other household members like TV shows (includes movies) and possibly games that are different to what you like then you should seriously consider a second display.

A second display could be another TV or a monitor and if the room where you want to game is smaller than your lounge room such as a study then a monitor is the better choice. Unfortunately, there are no 4K monitors that have HDR at the moment but they are coming fairly soon. In many respects, a 27" or larger 4K monitor is perfect for a study desk. Obviously if you are going to get a monitor then it will need an HDMI port.

On my 1080p monitor (waiting for a value for money 4K HDR monitor), I have two HDMI ports with one connected to my PC and the other to my PS4 and I can toggle between them in seconds. I found that if I connect my PC to the DVI port on my monitor I get an instability issue where my PC drops signal although I don't have that problem with my PC's HDMI port.

No matter what you decide I don't think you can go wrong with the PS4pro and having better framerates is IMHO much better for fast paced games than higher resolutions.

Do not cheap out a 4K tv. If you buy into the HDR hype then you'll need to invest in a quality 10 bit panel with enough nits to display the color brightness, and it's not just colors and contrast either. You also must ensure that your TV have low input lag in game mode with HDR, or even if it supports game mode in HDR at all.

Long story short, you will not be pulling out the TV you need from the Walmart bargain bin on Black Friday.

I really want to know how it looks on a 1080P screen and the potential benefits it brings when compared to it's older siblings for i'm still far off from upgrading my current TV sets anytime soon however ,i do know Horizon Zero Dawn & Tomb Raider offer some sort of improved image supersampling & solid 60 fps modes coupled with high-quality anti-aliasing techniques to boost performance..yes?

Digital Foundry reported on Rise of the Tomb Raider that the supersampling on the Pro eliminated all shimmering jaggies in the game which looks pretty impressive according to them.

That doesn't work as the drive is associated with the hardware it is originally installed in (tried this with 2 normal PS4's, it just wants to reformat) You can sign into both the Pro and OG PS4 at the same time and connect an ethernet lead and copy virtually everything across.

Why would you say that? From all reviews I have seen and read the PS4pro runs quiet and cool.

If you look at the dimensions of the PS4pro it is exactly the same as the original PS4 which is 275 mm (width) × 53 mm (height) × 305 mm (length).

Just traded og ps4...the 10th can't arrive sooner!!!! It was a really hard decision but this to me is not a mid gen upgrade its a current gen upgrade to 4k. Off topic I love ms. I love Sony but I care about what's available now!! I'll care about Scorpio and ps5 when they exist. Don't really know how a system due a year from now and the other who knows have to do with me?? I can hear specs all day long about a system but unless I can play a game on it right now wtf would I care? Who ever released first will just be out trumped by the next system so to be impressed with Scorpio against current hardware is ridiculous. I'm sorry but when Sony announce ps5 it will certainly be a few steps above Scorpio ...like obviously!!!!! so Microsoft is boasting most powerful console against no competitor lol like ok.... Don't get me wrong I love ms they saved me by including uhd drive and for that I've been able to watch dozens of 4k uhd that are no time soon coming to Netflix so yeah ms did something right...4k just doesn't belong in streaming there's barely anything to watch 4k streaming and the quality suffers to much. Physical 4k is a thing of pure beauty anyone with a sweet set up like mine knows the truth.
