4k resolution
Bigger screen
Better motion controls

Psvr as it is now is amazing and exceeded my expectations. There are a lot of games for psvr now but we need a lot more

freshslicepizza2772d ago

Number one should be about how it tracks. That is what is causing nausea for some. If the Move controller isn't tracking properly that's one thing but if it's the head unit then that can be a concern. It uses light to track which isn't as advanced as the others.

Amiga-guy2772d ago

I doubt PSVR2 will use the same tracking method (although thats not to say what they have now is bad) higher Resolution would make a huge difference, as will extra processing power.

Wireless (one day it will happen) and a wider field of view would also be welcome, but it has to be said Sony have in the PSVR a credible VR solution and is going to be crucial in taking VR into the mainstream.

freshslicepizza2772d ago

I agree, PSVR will greatly bring VR into the mainstream which is needed to get proper funding for games. This is just the beginning and will get a lot better over the next few years.

Aenea2772d ago

Ahhh, you've extensively tested the unit and came to the conclusion the headset is not being tracked properly huh?

Can we see the test results and how you tested this, I'm curious!

------
VR is causing nausea for some on ANY VR headset...

uth112772d ago

Seems like a lot of tracking problems might be caused by reflective surfaces in the room. Mirrors, windows, even glossy paint on the walls.

If you are having trouble with tracking, try placing a blanket or curtain behind you to block out these things

fr0sty2772d ago (Edited 2772d ago )

Tracking isn't what is causing nausea, VR causes nausea by its nature in people who get motion sick. It's because your body isn't feeling the effects of gravity as you move, and some people's minds are not able to deal with the disconnect and they start to get motion sick. Same reason some people get motion sick in cars, it isn't because of the design of the car, it's just the nature of moving without the body actually moving that throws some people off. Some are more sensitive to it than others, while others still (like me) don't feel it at all.

The funniest part is, "the others" also use light to track (infrared for Oculus, lasers for Vive). You really do have no idea what you are talking about.

Fast forward to the 10 minute mark. It makes total sense, especially from my own experiences with the Playstation Move which uses the same technology to track.

I have one sitting on my table that I ordered from Amazon as an impulse buy. I was really torn on whether I wanted to do it. My friend brought his over before I opened it and I am so glad, because I am sending this thing back. For me, the problem is that the lens fogs up constantly. I've tried everything with the flaps and it does not matter. I also have beyond 20/20 vision and the game was constantly out of focus. The amount of wires involved is also a little over the top. Most of these complaints can probably be made about VR in general. Don't get me wrong. It was kind of cool. Just not something I am all that willing to invest $500 into.

Amiga-guy2772d ago (Edited 2772d ago )

looking at you comment history your comment is obviously that of a salty xbox fanboy, people now know the PSVR offers a great VR experience for the money, your lies wont make a jot of difference.

DarthJay2772d ago (Edited 2772d ago )

I don't think you know how to read. I am out on VR all together. It's pretty sad that you can't just accept someone doesn't blow a load over your little wittle precious toy. I said it was fun, just not for me, and the lens fog up is 100% a no deal for me. And to help you since you can't read, all my complaints can probably be made about VR in general. Did you get that? So I am out on VR. Anyone that goes through someone's comment history to find out if they like another console than their precious has serious problems.

@DarthJay

Sounds like a lot of butt hurt to me. You know dang well you haven't tried the PS VR. LoL! I know it must burn your biscuits that Sony saw the VR future coming years in advance.

DarthJay2772d ago (Edited 2772d ago )

I haven't tried it?

Every single one of those videos is positive and encouraging too. It must burn your biscuits to be wrong. I own two Playstation 4's and I'll be replacing at least one of them with a Pro. Would you like to get rekt some more?

Fatal-Aim2772d ago (Edited 2772d ago )

Yeah right...

Sounds like a somebody of a somebody had access to one and you're just reaping the rewards. LoL!

You butt hurt

BossBattle2772d ago

Looks like Jay has tried it according to his youtube channel. Now you're butthurt cause vr stinks. Lol

Goldby2772d ago

@Darth,

Lick you finger and run it under the bottom of the lenses, that should stop the fogging and as for focus, is it the resoluition that you aren't used to seeing that is making you think your out of focus? if thats the case, have to waitf for next version to be released. if its actual focus thats the issue adjust the headset itself, it can move forward and back.

if you dont end up keeping it, pass that info to your friend. old Scuba diving trick i learned from my dad who wears prescription goggles for diving

DarthJay2772d ago

I will pass the info along. Thanks! I don't think this is the right product for me.

Aenea2772d ago

Meh, my regular glasses fog up more often during the day than my PSVR lenses do. yeah it can happen sometimes, usually goes away quickly as well.

That it's not in focus might be 'cos you didn't measure your eye to eye distance in the firmware, without it it was out of focus for me too. Actually I kinda had to fiddle with that since the calculation it made was the default value but had to go a few mm higher for it to be sharp. You should be able to see the individual pixels of that "adjust headset position" screen which has that big button saying "Everything is clear". If those are sharp than all is ok, if not you have to either do the eye measurement thing or move the headset around a bit to get it into focus.

Cabling is annoying tho but sadly nothing to be done about it for the next few VR generations...

DarthJay2772d ago

All of this is fair. I've just decided it's not for me. I don't know why this requires so many tears (not necessarily from you)

trooper_2772d ago

But uh, that's your opinion.

Gunstar752772d ago

Lens fog isn't really a massive issue. Just buy some spray that divers use

Otherwise expect to pay a LOT more to have temperature controlled fans in your headset

Amiga-guy2772d ago

I know very well how to read, which is why it was simple to uncover your lies, and by the way I think you have it wrong, I would say anyone desperate enough to lie about owning PSVR, has far more problems.

DarthJay2772d ago

@Amiga-guy here read this:

https://1drv.ms/i/s!AhV02oc...

So, videos of me playing it and I went ahead and took the unit out of the box and it's on my desk. And tomorrow it goes back to Amazon. Consider yourself sufficiently REKT.

Amiga-guy2772d ago

I tell you what, go and enjoy your new xbox that you're so excited about and leave the rest of us to enjoy what VR has to offer.

rainslacker2771d ago (Edited 2771d ago )

Wet your finger, rub said finger along the interior of the flaps, moisture problem solved. Easy solution.

I have crappy vision, and even with contacts it's not 20/20. Games appear clear enough for me. Maybe adjust the depth in the settings a bit? The way you're supposed to do.

There is one wire that goes from the processing unit, to the headset itself, and then headphones if you desire. If the other wires are getting in your way, realize that the processing unit is not a Wii Fit, and you can keep that processing box in a place where the wires won't be an issue. If you can't manage a few wires to connect everything up, then you're not someone that is very technically adept considering how well everything is labelled.

Last piece of advice. Find reasons that don't sound like they've been regurgitated from what you've read on the internet and maybe you could be taken seriously. It's hard to take the advice and opinion of someone who doesn't even research the issues, and uses those issues to completely dismiss VR. Most have easy remedies, and the wire argument is really dumb to begin with.

DarthJay2770d ago

Here's better advice: Maybe just accept that I decided VR isn't for me and move on?

rainslacker2770d ago

Fair enough, but when you go around trying to express your opinion as somehow worthwhile to listen to without looking into how to resolve the problems you have which shouldn't even affect the experience because they have solutions, maybe accept that others are going to call you out as a troll.

Next version of PSVR will be on ps5 and it will be native 4k vr gaming! Gigantic screen Theater mode will be flawless in 4k and of course VR gaming is amazing! Are we getting 4k psvr on Ps4 or ps4 pro?? are you kidding me. Don't even think about it, its impossible but im sure it will be possible on PS5.

Goldby2772d ago

....

where to start?
is it going to be 1 4k screen? or 2 4k screens?
you know how powerful the ps5 will have to be to run a 4k vr headset?

Aenea2772d ago (Edited 2772d ago )

Kinda hoping for two times 4k, for each eye...

-----
@Goldby

2 x 4 = 8, not 16.....

Also, if it is 2 to 3 times as fast as the Pro it should be able to do so at 60fps for at least one eye. If it can use some fancy GPU stuff that the Pro already seem to have to support VR then maybe it can do it with minor cost to performance for the second eye. Also they could use their PS4 Pro tricks to get to 4k. If the headset is already 4k at least it might be more future proof...

Gamist2dot02772d ago

Who is going to buy a $2000 4k, wireless VR? We want the tech but how many can afford it?

Sm00thNinja2772d ago (Edited 2772d ago )

People are getting butthurt by the PSVR negativity but the fact is this thing isn't perfect. Too many wires, downgraded visuals, motion sickness, and no must have titles. Obviously the good outweighs the bad. But some people are having negative experiences.

Aenea2772d ago

It's funny you mention must have titles, but the added immersion makes me mark any VR game as a must have since it plays sooooooooo differently! I mean, a simple platformer type game in Playroom VR and I had a grin from ear to ear!

Maybe it's just the newness of it, not sure, but I love the thing, so glad I bought it!

Yes sure, it's not perfect, but what is in the first generation?

Sm00thNinja2771d ago

I mean what's the point of commenting against me when we agree? Still there is no killer app sure it's amazing but has it clawed it's way out of novelty status? Heck no its still too soon. Support looks strong initially so that's a great sign

Aenea2771d ago

We disagree about the must-haves ;)

Gunstar752772d ago

Oh dear.... talking about psvr2 already???

VR has to have (most importantly) a super high resolution display and spot on tracking.

I've tried a lot of VR tech and Sony has released an amazing budget headset but this is the tip of an expensive iceberg.

If you want really good VR you can't (yet) do it on a budget, but props to Sony for getting us a step closer

finally!, being waiting for this game since its announcement some years ago, so many objects on screen using physics running at 60 fps is always mesmerizing to see.

SullysCigar397d ago

Played the demo on PSVR2 - it's trippy as hell!

Knushwood Butt397d ago (Edited 397d ago )

Awesome. I had this on my PS wishlist and was going to buy it Day 1. Seen as I have Extra, now I don't need to!
PSVR2 support too.

Abnor_Mal397d ago

Platformers are not really my thing, but I guess I can try it out on PlusExtra. In VR2 to boot.

fsfsxii397d ago

Finally! been badgering the devs on twitter for awhile now. Demo put me in a trance and i loved it.
