secondly; I had no idea Nintendo had anything to do with Pokemon…. That’s interesting… anyone know if it’s actually true? I thought it was just a TV show made in Japan / Asia that Nintendo made into those games

Pokemon (Pocket Monsters in Japan, the two words were made into a portmanteau during its American translation) made its debut on the Game Boy in 1995. The Pokemon anime was aired on Japanese television in 1998 as a spinoff to the Game Boy games. It shared the concept of the games, but had a different storyline.

Basically, games came first, anime came second. Both were released in America at pretty much exactly the same time. And Nintendo was the grand puppetmaster behind it all, engineering their plans to control the minds of our youth in order to further their goal of world domination.

..Well, okay. I was around eight or nine when Pokemon first came out, and I was obsessed with it too. XD

I guess you could say it was unlike anything else...but that's not necessarily a good thing. The VB sucked hard and it hurt my eyes after playing for like 10 minutes. If there was anything at all that was innovative about it was the 'boomerang' looking structure of the controller.

Alot of people on this site always go on about how nintendo only do good because of the main 3 flagship franchises (mario,zelda, metroid), and yet they always forget games like pikimin, pokemon and starfox. Must just slip there minds because it doesnt fit into their negative arguments.

Yeh and its funny how some people on here call nintendo the "cancer" to the industry. Maybe they dont realize the impact they actually do to the industry, and the good ideas that they can come up with.
