GI.net: "I use to enjoy Nickelodeon when I was young, as many normal children outside the Dr. Evil brand growing up on the fast track to mad villainy do. Whether it's simply my age, or the sign of our times, I can't objectively look at any of the shows today and say they begin to match the quality of something like Rocko's Modern Life. Different strokes for different folks? Sure, but if I'd have to pinpoint the last good attempt at children's entertainment on the network it would have to be Sponge Bob Square Pants. With just a slight hint of wit to prevent adults from going mad as well as quirky jokes told by great actors to distract kids, the show is fit enough as any for the game treatment and has been doing so for quite some time. I can't speak about past endeavors, but I'd have to say that Sponge Bob: Atlantis SquarePantis is a lot funnier than the title implies."
The return of the popular platform game where you get to control your hand drawn character sees the idea bolstered with a SpongeBob SquarePants licence. Drawn to Life: SpongeBob SquarePants brings the same high level of drawing themed innovation to the platforming fun.
WP writes: "SpongeBob Atlantis Squarepantis takes the run-and-bop formula of titles like Attack of the Toybots and tosses them strictly into the Spongebob universe. In this title, you'll take control of not only Spongebob, but also his trusty friend Patrick, feisty squirrel Sandy, and his boss, Mr. Krabs. The game gives you the option of switching out these characters by using the touch-screen, but you can only use two at a time. Each level will have a variety of small puzzles or obstacles to overcome, usually needing a particular talent that only one of these characters possesses. In addition to the puzzles, you'll find your typical platforming elements, with jumps, double-jumps, climbing, switches to throw, blocks to push and so on. There are a variety of enemies depending on your location in the game, all of whom are pretty mindless and can be taken out with a simple attack."
SpongeBob's Atlantis SquarePantis follows SpongeBob and the rest of the Bikini Gang as they leave Bikini Bottom and journey to the legendary city of Atlantis. Players will discover the treasures of Atlantis, while experiencing new game mechanics and multiplayer features.
