XBL has always supported indies since early 360 days with XBLA and the dedicated INDIE section in the XB 360 store. Just because a handful of people say something on this site, doesn't actually mean reality. Reality is nobody really cares what people say on this site. Its only really a few hardcore fans that go back and forth arguing about every topic in every article. Willing to be some of these people also have multiple accounts to make it seem like more people have the same idea.

I haven't played any of these games before and I always wanted to try out Escapist and I am alive. So its an ok month for me..also I got a huge back catalaogue of unplayed games including Recore and Destiny:ROI, my digital copy of FH3 unlocks next week and GOW4, BF1,
Mafia 3 and TF2 all next month. My wallet will cry. Glad I got a 4TB ext HDD though.

Like I stated in another articleproably to keep you excited throuyghout he month that youll get free games instead of blowing your load all at once. You don't really need them all at once, you get 2 games play them for 2 weeks get another 2 games

There are other games to play other then free games assuming you don't just have a sub for the free games. Just play something else if this isn't your month, its as easy as that. Not every offering is always going to be a must play, these are free games after all so be grateful your getting any in the first place. Personally I don't really play any of the free games that much anyways cause they either don't interest me or I buy them with cash closer to release then wait a year or more hoping for a GwG version. I personally (IMO) kind of wish these programs were never around, the money used on this (trigger warning) "gaming welfare" could be better spent on a new studio or new IP or help with existing IP, I'm assuming this cant be cheap to get millions of ppl to download a game for free. I never had a problem buying my own games, well at least since I you know got a job and started paying for my own things

It has nothing to do at all with maintaining interest in the games with gold promotion throughout the month. I has everything to do with only having to pay for two weeks worth of availability for each of the titles.

That's pretty messed up, if my gold subscription goes into this month then I should expect my free games.
At least on PS when your PS+ expires you can keep the games forever and just play them once you buy a new card.

For Xbox One games, XBL Gold is required to play your free games. I found out about this first hand last month when my Gold expired.

I bought the escapist on ps4, tried it r2 button didn't work 90% of the time. Tried to get a refund, but Sony said I had to jump through loads of hoops. So just left it.

Now it's free on xbox, and my interest in trying it is still "meh, cba now."

I came very close to getting The Escapists when it was on sale a few weeks back, i'm glad i waited now. Not a great month overall though. They need to correct that gamerscore total too, you cannot get 3200 gamerscore from these games, one of those games has had their servers closed down.

Ive never played any of these so a good month for me. Sure its not the best lineup theyve offered, but its really not bad by any means and still better than most PS plus offerings these days. Sony messed up ps plus for this gen by offering such a good lineup last gen.

Ps plus offerings used to be crazy good every single month, so now it looks like they are offering peanuts whereas they used to have a full course meal every month. Xbox charged for live for years before they offered any free games at all so it is what it is. Cant please everyone every single month and that goes for both companies.
