BioShock Remasters on PC Are Plagued with Problems

According to early Steam reviews, both remasters of the original BioShock and its sequel are ridden with issues, offering no option to tweak graphics as well as a bunch of new and old bugs.

PC master race!

Naw in all seriousness, I'm enjoying it very well on my PS4 ;)

SvenBoonen3193d ago

I'm playing it on PC and there are some technical hiccups here and there that can bother the experience... How is it on PS4?

DeadlyOreo3193d ago

Runs pretty smoothly on PS4. I had one moment where the game froze for about 20 seconds quite randomly when there was a lot going on, but otherwise it's damn good.

NohansenBoy3193d ago

I wonder how devs are allowed to release sub par games and not receive any penalty for it. I guess Arkham Knight at least got pulled and told the devs to try again. Even AAA devs are becoming worse than greenlit zero effort indie devs who never leave early access.

Hoffmann3193d ago

Plagued with problems is a damn exaggeration.

The game looks better in the new version than in the old, even if you had everything on ultra. At least in my opinion.

I did not experience any bugs so far.

SvenBoonen3193d ago

Many players, including myself, experience some major stuttering and frame drops in illogical places. There is definitely a lot that suggests remastering BioShock for PC was a rushed decision.

Hoffmann3193d ago

Guess I was lucky so far ^^

solderman3193d ago

Seems like every month a major PC title is plagued with problems.

Fishy Fingers3193d ago

Which was last months? I think both yourself and this article are exaggerating. Which is highly unlike the Internet...

DarkOcelet3193d ago

No Man Sky!

Nuff said. I have a 980Ti and i couldnt get it to be stable at 60fps no matter what i did plus stuttering etc etc etc

Hoffmann3193d ago (Edited 3193d ago )

No Man's Sky.

And from my 3 hour experience, the Bioshock remasters are not plagued at all.

The award for worst plagued game by bugs and technical problems of the month in September goes to ReCore though. That game is a mess.

MasterCornholio3193d ago

Also I read that Recore has some issues on PC as well.

SnakeEyeP9113193d ago

Tell me about it...i have 2 980 ti SC+, and the 980 ti is one hell of a card, and yet, i still cant play some recent title at
60 fps on 4k (ranges between 45 - 60 with some tweaking and slight OC) because of poor optimization...and sometimes they struggle on 1440p or 1080p for some titles...which is understandable since the card is meant for 4K, but still...better optimization is needed for PC titles cuase this is getting rediculas

Perjoss3193d ago

I could also make you a pretty hefty list of all the PC games released in a month that run with zero problems, but nobody really cares about that, everyone just loves the drama of failure right?

NohansenBoy3193d ago

I think these devs need a refresher course on game development.

Really???Locked 4k,ultra,60 fps on 1 1080,close to 6gb ram usage and 30% gpu usage. My brother 1070,at ultra at 4k has about 90-95 fps avg,69 the lowest he has seen so far.Only problem was the mouse sensitivity on both our pcs,but we fixed it.Also, extremely poor graphics options, close to darksiders.

Unless its batwoman were they right it off

porkChop323d ago

It's 10 years too late for a BioShock film. The world of Rapture would have been perfect for a film. It's actually a good candidate for proper utilization of 3D, for increased depth rather than bullshit popping out of the screen. It could really show off the underwater city that way. But BioShock as a brand is so irrelevant these days that a film just doesn't make sense. Especially considering it would need a big budget and top notch effects to really take advantage of the IP.

gold_drake323d ago

i agree on the bigger budget. all the cgi they'd need for the background.

but i think it would work better as a show. a movie would be too short to establish the story

TheNamelessOne323d ago

Netflix greenlights anything, so that shows me very little faith in the project. Enough to just crap something out as they're, more and more, known to do.

badkolo322d ago

its where b movies go to live, its run by democrats , dont expect anything good from netflix

Knightofelemia323d ago (Edited 323d ago )

I'll laugh if it turns out to be better then the Borderlands movie
