Honestly, with how good SMTIV was I had my doubts they could make an expansion to the story that's just as good, but man, they sure did.

Kyosuke_Sanada3154d ago (Edited 3154d ago )

I just hope they fixed the battle system a bit compared to Atlus's magnum opus, SMTIII: Nocturne which managed to maintain a tug of war system during boss battles. I played and love SMT IV but it felt a bit weak due to the later battles which either resulted in me steam rolling the boss or vice versa.

dead_pixels3154d ago

I had the same issue with SMTIV as you did, and I have to say that I experienced it very rarely this time around. Fights feel much more balanced, and in turn are more engaging.

I have a 3DS somewhere in my house all lonely...I may have to treasure hunt that thing and just so I can check this game out.

I'm definitely getting a 3ds sometime in the future just to play all the awesome smt games it keeps getting.

Basically Persona and Nier OSTs ... 👀

dead_pixels2230d ago (Edited 2230d ago )

You know, I’d agree if we were talking about games older than 10 years. Sadly, P5’s soundtrack, while solid, just didn’t do it for me. Then again, disco and funk just aren’t my thing.

CDbiggen2230d ago

Some solid picks in there. That Ys viii track is kickass.
I was always a fan of FF XIIIs battle theme, blinded by light. Think we're still inside the decade for that :-)

rainslacker2229d ago (Edited 2229d ago )

Ys games are always great. I love some of their live orchestral performances.

Any list like this that doesn't include Bravely Default, is an incomplete list.
Full stop.

Nice to see they put Criminal Girls in there. Kind of disappointed that Xenosaga didn't make it, as it has one of the best soundtracks in gaming. While not a game to begin with, seems like not having "Do you Remember Love" from Macross, which has been in many Macross games, seems like a huge oversight, since it pretty much set the whole trope of music to save the world to.

that said, anything from Falcom's JDK Team is awesome.
