The dust covers are about to come off the LA Convention Center!
As we’re all aware, the much-loved E3 Expo is dead, scaled down to an miniscule invitation-only media and industry affair that’s likely to have as much atmosphere as a three-day funeral. However, a few months ago, rumours started to spread concerning an all-new E3 replacement-also to be held at LA’s Convention Center-and that replacement event has duly arrived.
Endorsed by the Entertainment Software Association (ESA), the consumer-focused ‘Entertainment for All Expo’ will be held at the Los Angeles Convention Center from 18-20 October 2007, and will target consumers with a wealth of game demos, a retail area, and various other ‘trade fair’ style attractions. Much like E3 then. Yay!
"We’ve witnessed a growing demand for a consumer-focused interactive entertainment show these last few years-both from consumers and from the industry," commented Mary Dolaher, executive vide president of IDG World Expo.
"E for All Expo will offer an unprecedented opportunity for people who share a passion for games to try before they buy-and to interact with the people who created them [the games]," Dolaher continued. "For companies that produce and develop games, interactive toys, and all things related, our goal is that E for All will foster promotional and relationship-building opportunities that only face-to-face contact can create."
Beyond the central showcasing of videogame products, the inaugural Entertainment for All Expo will also deliver game tournaments, a job fair, family-friendly events, and concerts
