is this a worldwide release date, or only in Japan?

Genuine-User2783d ago (Edited 2783d ago )

US and Japan. Europe is as Nyxus states below.

I'm glad it's still a 2016 release date, almost had a heart attack :p

I don't mind a months delay. October is a packed month as it is.

Neonridr2783d ago

thanks. But you are right, it's getting dangerously close to slipping out of the 2016 calendar. Here's hoping they can lock that date down now.

Nitrowolf22783d ago

Yep, this is actually one of the smarter delays I've seen in terms release frames. October had BF1 and Titanfall 2, with The last Gaurdian releasing midweek between the two.

December has some pretty good titles to, but no monsters like those ones

I always thought it should release for Christmas anyway. October is for PSVR

game4funz2783d ago

And now they're next to final fantasy. That's really good... Not.

As much as this sucks, it would have gotten murdered in October. This is a much better date. They should delay Gravity Rush 2 aswell.

P_Bomb2783d ago

Gravity Rush sounds like it's tight and done. Never any developmental problems, just nose to the grindstone. I say move it up to November

Overload2783d ago

Just for timing, GR2 will please it's target audience, but might get overlooked by the masses during the holidays. It's happened to many solid titles.

UCForce2783d ago (Edited 2783d ago )

Easy there, Those two titles will sell well in my book. And I understand your concern, but don't worry. Both titles will sell well. And it is smart idea to delay it, because it would get demolished by these two major big titles.

Germany72783d ago

No way, i want to play Gravity Rush 2 in December. I hope you are being sarcastic.

Wow, the game is delay to December. Which mean Gravity Rush 2 And TLG are going to be the best for gamer. Take your time, my friend.

ifistbrowni2782d ago

Sony has been awesome at delaying all their games lately. Hopefully they stop putting dates on their titles.

The Last Guardian isn't a game I'm dying for, so the delay isn't a big deal. But, man does this make Sony look bad at keeping their developers on track to meet their release dates. Not saying the delay is a bad thing, if it fixes even one game breaking glitch, then it's a good delay.

DragonDDark2783d ago (Edited 2783d ago )

I thought it was until 2017 lol

Its ok. It's probably for the Pro. Maybe they gonna do a bundle too?

BarneyS2783d ago

Sony as a publisher had way too many delays though. Yes it's still better than releasing a broken game but it happens too much now. Either set a realistic release date or be realistic about what you want as a developer and develop your game accordingly.

UltraNova2783d ago (Edited 2783d ago )

Yeah you convinced me, I m selling my ps4 and getting an xbox asap!

Edit @barney
Hehe If a carreer in MS's marketing department is what you really like then by all means go for it ;-)

To answer your question; no, delaying nearly all games is not good for fans that feel offended by waiting longer than promissed. Bit still, personally i dont care for delays anymore since i got used to them especially with the games onslaught we experience these days keeps making my back catalog longer and longer.

As for tLG i d rather they delay it another year if need be to make sure they do their best before getting it out. This game is very important it carries a huge legacy and its their duty to deliver after all these years of constant delays.

BarneyS2783d ago (Edited 2783d ago )

@Ultranova
Wow I should apply for a job at the Xbox marketing department then...

But seriously, I assume from your comment that you're a PlayStation fan. Guess what, me too. That doesn't mean I don't criticise Sony when sometings wrong in my opinion. Do you think that it's perfectly fine to delay nearly every game you publish?

Edit: Fair enough, yes a delay is definitely better than releasing an unpolished game. But I still think that Sony should take a good look at this problem and make sure that it doesn't happen as much as it has in the past.

ILostMyMind2783d ago

@BarneyS
I think this is not a matter of like but be needed, unfortunately. Perhaps the solution is not to reveal a project as soon as they are doing. The hype they are creating is poisoned fans and haters .

DragonDDark2783d ago (Edited 2783d ago )

I get you but 2 months are nothing compared to almost 7 years

Sharky2312782d ago

They had a realistic release date! You get to a certain point when it's time to go gold if you can't go gold then you delay! Can you imagine what the gaming community would say if Sony put out a broken game! Especially if it was this game! I imagine part of this was because of the major games coming out in October but if the game was having issues I don't mind the delay. It's just a few weeks!

andibandit2782d ago (Edited 2782d ago )

@Sharky

Noone wants a broken game, but this is about estimating development. If you are getting alot of your estimates wrong....change them.

conanlifts2782d ago

That's what I'm waiting for with the pro, some sort of bundle. If not i will grab one when horizon zero dawn releases.

ginsunuva2782d ago

Why would they delay this for the Pro?
Think for a second at least.

Nyxus2783d ago

Sucks, but I do appreciate the fact that they'd rather polish it more than just put it in the stores at all costs.

DigitalRaptor2783d ago

PHEW.

I'm just glad it's still 2016. At least now I can afford a few more PSVR games in October. And the game will be removed from being drowned out by CoD and Battlefield.

I can even imagine Sony making a big deal about it at PSX in December.

senorfartcushion2783d ago

I've played 15, and I wouldn't consider any of those underrated TBH. Some of them are pretty high rated.

banger88136d ago

That's amazing, Gamingbolt actually put all 15 games on the same page.

shinoff2183135d ago

I. Not seeing anything on that list underrated. I never played concrete genie, the ASTRO vr,and one other but I forgot the name already. Nothing on there was underrated at all imo.

persona4chie135d ago

There’s only 4 of those games I never played, and no most of those aren’t underrated.

The Last Guardian Is One of Gaming’s Most Beautiful Depictions of Friendship

Friendship is hard to depict accurately, but The Last Guardian does a good job of showing all its ups and downs through Trico and the boy.

Technical issues aside, this is easily one of my favorite games from last gen.

ClayRules2012820d ago (Edited 820d ago )

I couldn’t agree more. I’ll never forget the emotional experience I had with this game. After waiting all those years, and than to finally play it. It was a visual beauty, along with offering a story/friendship between the 2 characters that was unique and unforgettable. Far surpassed my expectations. A masterpiece!

Technical issues aside, never have I played anything quite like it!

Magog820d ago

I enjoyed the game but it started out too simple and easy. If the entire game was as intense and challenging as the last 20% it would have been a 10/10 experience.

EvertonFC820d ago

Great game, so underrated. One of my favourites and top 20 games of all time

Phoenix76820d ago

I managed to grab the collectors edition for £40 about a year after it released. Was an enjoyable game, but I had just finished Shadow of the colossus, and whilst I enjoyed it, it was not as good when compared.
