Best Battlefield? Bad Company 2's beta was literally 100x better than this. I'm not even exaggerating, this is so generic in comparison. The desert doesn't feel like it was made for either conquest or rush, Too small for conquest, and too structure-less for rush.

the horses are hilariously bad... They just stand around doing nothing, even when they're shot at. It's like Dice didn't bother making actual horses. WW1 skin over BF4 with worse maps, that's all it is. Hell even the menu feels like a modern BF5 instead of WW1, too modern feeling.

I'm gonna place a bet: Bad Company 2's beta will be better than the full release of Battlefield 1.

BC2 = masterpiece. BF1 = trash. Actually yes I take that back, I would take one masterpiece over any amount of trash. So BC2 is infinitely better than BF1. NO ONE can properly dispute that BF1 is a downgrade from older games. Hell even the destructibility still isn't as good as BC2.

I think you're seeing things through rose tinted glasses. Bad Company 2 was a great game, but it wasn't perfect and honestly I can't say it was better than BF1. A few pros and cons for both, but I think things have generally improved for the better.

BC2 isn't even the best BF people... BF2 is the pinnacle of BF, but then again you wouldn't know this as you only started playing from BC.

No glasses pal. The beta map for Bad Company 2 was Port Valdez, I remember that from the top of my head. No one will give a damn about the BF1 beta map when the next one's out. The map design was far superior in BC2 compared to BF1. Just compare the two rush modes... and realize they're incomparable.

Seriously: Good luck disputing me, because you can't. Everyone runs around like morons in this beta, unlike BC2. This shows how much better BC2 was designed. That's not nostalgia, that's what actually happened.

Yeah I played Battlefield 2 a bit too late to enjoy it, the shooting was hard to get used to. But the maps were brilliant, every single one completely leaves the one in the BF1 beta for dead.

Especially the map part. The map is Great on rush. Bad on conquest because of the desert dunes E side. Too small? Are you joking? Most people are saying this map is too big.

Yeah I get it, some people prefer this one. That's fine, I'm not saying you can't think that. But that doesn't mean I can't say how rubbish I think it is, especially when I've played most of the games. The reason I say that BC2 is indisputably better is because it did everything better. That's a fact. You can prefer BF1, but BC2 is clearly the better game. Another example is I preferred God of War: Ascension to God of War 3... but I can still see that GOW3 is clearly the better game. This feels like an even bigger gap.

Oh sure in terms of gameplay: it plays almost exactly like Battlefront, nothing like Battlefield. There's your gameplay criticism, the whole thing is generic and not like WW1 at all. Destructibility still isn't as good as BC2. The map is what you PLAY in, and if they're all the quality of the beta, it ain't going to be good.

The whole reason I went on about the horses is because it shows how little effort they put into making this different from the modern ones. It's not just an animation, it just outright doesn't behave like a horse. It's basically the motorbike from Hardline with a horse skin, only now you can attack while riding it.

Same with the menu... If you replaced the 1 with a 5, it would feel exactly like a modern BF5 would. They didn't put any effort into making the menu feel like WW1. It's little things like that that put me off. It's trying to be so smooth that it ends up being clunky.

Yeah it feels like more of a rush map, but it's such a boring bland map for rush, nothing interesting about the level at all. It pales in comparison to the Bad Company rush maps. Lol what kind of moron thinks the BF1 beta map is too big?. Try playing BF2 where some of the maps are at least 5 times bigger (which is generous to BF1). They ended up being great maps.

Even 1943 with 32 players per round had bigger maps... And they sure as hell didn't feel too big.

at first i wasnt to happy with it but it has grown on me a little ill get it eventually when its on sale but the horse....... thats majorly OP right now it needs a nerf and no im not just mad that i was getting rekt i grabbed the horse and went on a 18 kill streak before i got shot off

Shoot the guy in the horse not the horse. They're very easy to kill. When they charge you just shoot them? I've killed plenty of cavalrymen. Sound like you just can't aim properly.

They need to fix the tanks or something to defend against them. Yes tanks in WW1 were very strong for there time. But fuck 3 dynamite and 2 anti tank grenades should destroy that fucker. 3 dynamite should only. 2 anti tanks should disable it. Pointless to have them in the game if they don't do shit

* There is plenty to defend against the tanks. The assault class has the anti-tank cluster mine, + anti-tank regular grenades + that long rifle grenade/shot/elephant gun thingie that does like 25-50 dmg to tanks and aircraft.

* Scout has anti-tank k-bullets.

* Use the Artillery vehicle to annihilate the enemy tanks as well.

* Also can bomb tanks with planes.

They don't need to fix the tanks they need to fix the games idiotic playerbase... With the amount of assaults running around the vehicles shouldn't be an issue yet they are because people running assault are utter noobs.

I'm terrible at aiming so I stick with a shotgun as assault. Doing that nets me a ton of kills and I actually manage to be useful to my team.

What I'm trying to say is that when you play be helpful to your team. If you can't play as scout but are a master with assault just stick with assault and help your team more that way.

I do a pretty good job with vehicles. Using the AT Gun to hit them from a distance and the anti vehicle gun when they are close. I could use the light anti vehicle grenade as well but I prefer gas. Main reason is that gas allows me to escape and prevents soldiers from aiming down their sites at me. Something that doesn't bother me since I use a shotgun.

Overall I'm having fun. However I do hope they fix the rubberband issues. Also the aiming from some vehicles machine guns is extremely off. I would also like to add that there are graphical glitches as well that makes the textures flicker like crazy.

@WellyUK - Spot on! People don't play their classes and focus on racking up kills, instead of winning the match.

AT mines, tank grenades and using turrets make quick work of most tanks. I LOVE that the tanks are powerful. You are supposed to crap your pants a little when spotting a tank.

Great tip although it's obviously getting reset for the main game, also a tip for those going for the beta rank 15 dog tag, but getting to 15 is not hard at all over the required 4 days gameplay.

Old conquest, stronger tank counter options, weaker tanks, planes should be able to kill infantry easier (seriously, two hits should off someone), and a SERIOUS reworking of that new style Medic class, it's bloody awful. However, overall, the beta is great. Not too keen on the map, however.

Tanks are easy once you unlock at AT gun with assault.Two can demolish enemy armor like nothing

I play assault with Model 10 A Shotgun, 1911 Pistol, Gas Grenade, Anti Vehicle Grenade and AT Gun. I enjoy the combination but it's really for close range combat only with support against vehicles.

Handy you can spawnkill from one capture point to the next with a sniper rifle and get killed off for daring to venture up the rocky areas, I remember when you did that just to get to the next capture point - or take a B52!

Simples, PTFO. I barely get 5 kills a match but rake in the points. Easiest way to rack up 10000+ points every round of conquest for coddies, be squad leader, sit in a tank with a driver who goes to flags, set a particular flag the driver is going to attack and get 500 conquest + 200 attack order points per flag. Also keep shit off the tank, and if your team wins you get a huge bonus.
