VVV: "Assetto Corsa's much anticipated console launch hasn't exactly been a smooth release so far. Performance issues have plagued the game with noticeable screen tearing and frame rame drops, and the lack of private lobbies have been leaving players disappointed.
Developer Kunos Simulazioni has posted a blog responding to some of the main criticisms of Assetto Corsa's console release reported by the community."
Racing simulator games are more realistic than ever. Here's a list of the best racing simulator games if you need a Holiday rush.
Assetto Corsa is a popular racing simulation game known for its realistic driving experience. It offers a wide range of meticulously detailed cars and
The Assetto Corsa series has sold over 28 million copies globally and made €104 million in revenue, with a sequel releasing in spring 2024.
Jesus really? Damn I didn't know Assetto Corsa was that popular. Now that I look at the sales numbers and the sheer about of mods for the PC version I guess I can see it now.
Really impressive numbers.
There´re more racing simulators fans out there than most racing games studios acknowledges.
Wish AC1 was at least one X enhanced but it's only sold a lot because of its price
I was wondering how this did commercially at launch on consoles. That digitalfoundry video (not sure if it's with or w/o a day one patch, but it's an everyday thing now for games this gen, so we'll take that as a yes) sure does prove a lot of dips in framerate once there are 15 cars on screen as opposed to 10. This is including the new Xbox One S (which has a slight performance bump over the vanilla Xbox One) and of course, the PS4.

It's a shame that only genre's like fighting games get a locked 60 FPS on consoles in literally EVERY fighting game released till date because they're a highly skill based genre and require precise frame based input, but racing sims don't get the same treatment (let alone screen tearing). They should have opted for these new age techniques with native resolution. Something like Quantum Break with it's temporal reconstruction of 4 previous 720p frames into one single 1080p frame, or just good ol' dynamic resolution like what Wolfenstein: The New Order did on PS4 & X1 during explosions, drop the resolution when heavy CPU intensive calculations (obviously a CPU bottleneck in the current consoles) take place on screen, and forced 60 FPS. Racing sims need to be 60 FPS, period. Doesn't matter if it's easy on the hardware or brute forced.
These guys are really community friendly though, so would expect some neat changes soon with a patch.
Also, Team VVV - you guys are doing some amazing work in the racing game community, going to events everywhere and covering stuff that mainstream media wouldn't care about. Thanks and keep burning that rubber. <3
Did not work on Xbox like I wanted. Can be played on a wheel fine but on controller its broken
Its a shit game. End of criticism. No explanation needed
It's literally Project Cars all over again. Unplayable with gamepads, amateurishly optimized on consoles.
