Does Braid Cast Mario in a Different Light?

"I would venture to say that enough time has passed since the release of Braid were I can actually comfortably say something about the game without people freaking out. If you haven’t yet beat Braid and you hate spoilers, slowly back away now. I mean it. I may or may not give things away, but lets just play it safe here, okay?"
