They're worthless and too easy to get past. All you have to do is to enter some bogus age in order to view anything that has that age check. All they have to do is put a warning label within the video, even THAT would be more effective that the age check that isn't.
I was thinking the exact same thing. I'm used to pressing either Square or X for Jumping... I definantly hope it's possible to customize the button layout.
Thats what ive been hearing from ALOT of people lately; that their are gonna rent the game. Im lost on that. Show Take 2 Support and BUY the game. That shows them that BioShock on the ps3 will be/is as much a success as it was on the 360/ps3. If they see no sales because everyone is buying it used or renting, they'll think theres no market to publish games on this platform. Thats just my opinion though
See personally it is awesome that everyone (SONY and MS sorry WII fans) will get to enjoy this game it was awesome but a bad movie on Take 2 to wait a year before releasing it on the PS3... Most people have played it by now and its becoming a game to rent and no longer buy... its been worn out i guess i should say... yah and its being released along with all the other big hits coming.. better be like 40 bucks if they really want to sell it...
$40.00 sounds good to me. I don't think that the game is worn out , it's just that the hype is gone. The fact that it is releasing in october will definitely hinder it's sales. It has to compete with MotorStorm 2, Socom, Farcry2, LBP, Fallout 3, and Fable2 for my hard earned cash. A push forward to September would really help BioShock (Or a $40 price tag :) ).
edit @ Bombibomb.... Agree'd. Support good game developers and everybody please stop buying the wii..Lol.
@Ercs: The hype, gone? Dunno about that. For a port of a year old game, Bioshock on the PS3 is getting a HELL of a lot of attention from so many people. Them adding more features (including adding the DLC that the 360 owners got onto the disc) plus Home integration is actually helping it get a ton of new hype, actually. I don't think I can remember such a port getting this much hype.
As for the many releases coming out in October, I don't know if that will hold as much water, either, although it is good to bring up the quantity of AAA PS3 games coming out that month because it's a valid point. Just don't think it'll matter that much. The only thing that will probably beat it: It's out on Oct. 24th, around when LBP comes out. It'll get overshadowed by that game by a MILE! But I can imagine people who reserved either game buying it off before release and then buying the other when they pick up the first game.
The game has two big things going against it right now. First is the launch date. I don't think a lot of people will pick a year old port over fresh meat like LBP, Fallout 3, etc, you all know the ridiculous October lineup. And second is the price. Bioshock really needs to be at the $40 price and honestly I don't know why it isn't. The PC and 360 versions are both $30. I think the game would be an instant win if they had it at $40 because it sorta becomes an impulse buy especially considering Christmas is coming up.
I remember when I got it last year. I had blankets over all of my windows. It was awsome. Trust me, play this in the dark. It has some of the best atmosphere in a game ever.
Looks great, 2K Marin really did a fantastic job with this. The controls seem fine to me, jump on triangle makes sense since this is not a platformer. I will say I prefer R1/L1 to R2/L2 but it's a minor complaint.
EDIT: That Survivor difficulty looks like a real challenge, in previous videos from the 360 version those enemies could be killed in 1 shock, 1 hit now its like 4 and they attack quick.
Also look like they fixed the animation system, in the original enemies often looks awkward when dying like a severe framerate dip in animation that affected only them.
I was looking really closely at that third video myself. I played through the PC version at least 3-4 times, and this looks intense to me. His EVE meter dropped to almost zero after 1 shock! This is going to be a game a conservation....
Since Bioshock is coming out in October, I wont be purchasing it until maybe December or early next year because there's a lot of other games I want this Fall/Holiday... I already pre-ordered the Fallout 3 Collector Edition and I'm getting LBP in October too, and thats $140 dollars right there just on 2 games, plus I want Dead Space and Far Cry 2 in October too and Bioshock will just have to wait.
Anyways, the gameplay looks O.k. I didn't know it was a game where you had powers... I've never seen any gameplay footage of the game until now though. I just hope Bioshock is as good of a game people make it out to be.
I'm defiantly buying this game, but it's just a matter of when I'll buy it.
This is a definite buy for me. This was the only game I really wanted to see ported to PS3 (and I dont want it on PC for some reason). If it is $50 dollars at launch I will buy it. If it is 60, i will wait until it goes down in price. This is one of the games that will tide me over so i can forget about KZ2 until it comes out. However LBP, Socom, R2, and motorstorm will be icing on the cake.
BTW, maybe gamespot uses that flashplayer so you have to go to their site? Then again, maybe not. Oh, I hate that age checker thing as well! Chip chip cheerio cheerio + BUBBLES
it's ALWAYS been great. i've played some of the 360 and PC versions of the game (i never beat them), so i'm eager for the PS3 version.
unfortunately, top priority games for October are this:
1) Little Big Planet (must buy. if there is one game i get next month, it's this one) 2) Fallout 3 (ditto. my fiance is dying to get her hands on it after completely dominating Oblivion to the point where she hates it now, because there isn't anything left for her to do). 3) Fable 2 (aren't enough co-op games outside of the Lego Games for us to enjoy, so we're really looking forward to playing Fable 2 together)
if i can swing it, i'll pick up Bioshock, but i'm not sure. my fingers are crossed, though.
Huh I thought PS3 owners all played Bioshock on their PC's already, so why are they so excited that they finally after 1.5 year get the game? Strange logic there.
Wtf? Why can't I watch the videos?
Edit: Yeah I got it. Thanks.
Wow looking good.
Triangle to jump? R2 to attack!? WHAT IS THIS MADNESS?! D;
I pray for custom controller mapping
looks pretty cool. Do you have powers in that game? I never knew it was that type of game.
looks like trophies have the same objective as achievements for this game...
looks good, control scheme is kind of odd though
