PS4 firmware 4.00 screenshots show redesign

How many times have we seen this and it turns out to be fake, but i'am hoping for folders and the ability to remove demos and beta's from my library.

The invites are sent when its already available for download, they send the code along with it... Well it has been like this for me since they started rolling betas for public.

Subtle and efficient! There's always room for improvement, but I'm glad they've stuck to the core UI and didn't do a complete overhaul.

The Ps4's UI is so simple, yet snappy. I'm glad they didn't take the Microsoft approach and bloat it with stuff that hinder it's performance.

I have been in the PS camp since the very first PS1 and to some degree I have to agree with you. It took them quite long to include folders. I also waited quite some time to get the same backup routine as on PS3. I also believe that MS software engineers do more work on the software to enhance the experience than Sony does for the PS eco system. I have a X1 as a secondary system to enjoy their exclusives as well.

I want to be objective as possible and because I have all consoles at home and enjoy them I know why you feel that way.

I really hope Sony will allow us to change the name at least one more time but I don't have a lot of hope Sony will put a lot of effort into the change PSN ID feature. It has been asked for for ages.

XB1 needed massive, shifting updates to its Kinect-oriented, multimedia-led interface since day one, and only recently have provided something that lets you navigate as though it was designed to be done with a proper controller and not your voice or your hands, and GAMES at the forefront. It took them years to provide a meaningful update to what what a mess of epic proportions from so many angles. They're just about as "late to the game" as Sony are in that regard with this console cycle. The updates are coming in far more regularly and meaningfully than at the very start of this gen that's for sure.

Folders and the fact they are gonna prioritise games that are currently installed, music to my ears fed of of seeing little arrows next to old demos/betas and anything else I've no longer got the urge to play. Finally get folders and hopefully hide all the stuff that is possible to redownload but most likely deleted for a reason ;)

That doesn't mean anything. Matter of fact that made me think it more likely. "Ps4 firmware 4.00 screenshots show redesign"...The screenshot could have been shown on screen with a new model of ps4 sitting beside a stage or they could have had the design as the new wallpaper/background/theme or could have been an icon/app showing the new unit...ohh well. Maybe I'm the only one who reads titles with a skeptical eye due to stuff like this.

The guy even put in his description "redesign of firmware 4.00". Guess that wouldn't have been newsworthy or bold enough in the title. Fooled me into thinking it was bigger news.

I agree, ps4 does have a simple menu, however I do like the Xbox one menu as well. After all the updates it looks and performs just fine. Honestly don't see how one is that much diff from the other. Compared to the original launch of Xbox one menu (which that was a dumpster fire). It's night and day now.

I'll take it! I really like the UI on both the PS4 and the Xbox One. I like the PS4 UI for it's simplicity, ease of use, and it's minimalist style. I like the Xbox UI for it's multitasking, snapping, and the guide that allows you to access anything within game with only a couple button presses. One of the few things that I wanted on the PS4 was a bit of control over the organization, and the ability to prioritize items on my home screen like pins. The new quick menu looks great! It serves the same purpose as snapping on Xbox does now, allowing quick access to certain things within leaving your game. Folders will be great too for the organization freak in me. Now I just want the ability to use any screenshot or saved image for my background, an maybe external support. This may seem silly, but when using the PS4's web browser and viewing a YouTube clip, the browser doesn't support full HD. I could just use the app on the PS4, or any number of other devices in my house with YouTube, but I wish that the browser supported it. I really only ever encounter this issue when browsing N4G on the PS4, and I come across an article with an embedded YouTube clip.
