NOLA: The idea was to remake "Pete's Dragon," Disney's 1977 live-action/animated hybrid about an orphaned boy who is befriended by a sweet, sometimes invisible dragon. Once upon a time, that might have sparked an uproar among fans cool to the idea of tinkering with a perceived classic. Those days are gone, though.
