At QuakeCon this year we tried two very familiar experiences in virtual reality.
The next-gen update for Bethesda Game Studios' Fallout 4 currently has a bugged out Quality mode on Xbox Series X|S.
It's not messed up. This mode runs 60fps 1440p with ultra settings. If you want to see the other modes, disable 1440p somehow.
They have and they haven't just download 60fps and ultra setting mod and gane looks great
And Ultra Settings ... @1440p. It's working as expected. There is a star that states in the patch notes that if 1440p is available, quality mode will stay in 60fps 1440p with ultra settings.

To each their own but I think getting blown up is pretty instantaneous, whereas radiation poisoning is slow and painful.
I think a game like Fallout is too complex for VR in it's current form. Especially, like the article said in regards to the movement issues. However, Doom is probably the best game to translate to VR.
