I think the media unfortunately played a large role in pinning this as being Bioshock like even though from the get go the dev did distance themselves from such a comparison. Whats worse is the media took that comparison as a fact for when they are going in and previewing this early access game, hence why we are seeing numerous "disappointed its not Bioshock" articles or narratives from sites. What is even worse to me is I am hearing some outlets passing a final review on the game as though its finished and this is all it is. I may just skip the early access build for now until more is flushed out. At some point though I will give it a go and know...its not done and this is just a sliver of the game.
It never shared anything similar to Bioshock -- ever. Other than perhaps tone.
In some crazy way thats a good thing that it not live up to that misplaced hype , rather it be its own game for better or worse.
