Interesting that in at least three of the games mentioned, your choices didn't matter as the person you chose to save ended up dying later on. This tends to happen a lot in The Walking Dead.

I think its because some games want you have the emotional connection without really letting you explore it. It's a shame but then again, branching stories would be a nightmare to program.

Yep... Which makes me kinda numb in making such decisions most of the time... Specially TWD. If I save someone I'm pretty sure they will die in at least a few chapters ahead. Telltale is not very good in branching the storylines until the very end.

I actually didn't like the offered up by TWD: Season 2. A lot of the characters felt like they were here just to get offed - felt cheap by Chapter 5. Ending was similarly disappointing.

Even Saints Row 3 had one of those ending moments. It's become more common in gaming.

The Witcher 2 was the best b/c it literally changed the entire 2nd chapter. 1/3 of the entire game was different based on a single choice. You'd have to replay the rpg in order to see how it would have been.

Most others are simple moments that adjust to your decision. TW2 is not.

Witcher 2's arguably the most far reaching. I guess the only reason I didn't slide it higher up the list was because some of the others genuinely made me sad - whereas that one was more calculated.

The Baron quest in the Witcher 3 had some tough choices, something bad happened no matter what unless there is a secret ending that i didn't see.

Oh god that infamous 1 choice was insane,you knew what the right thing to do was but god damn.SS is so trash compared to 1 and 2.I wish sucker punch continue cole's evil story.

Playing as a full on renegade in ME3 made me feel like one of the worst people I could be when it came to Mordin's death. Holy cow, was that some messed up stuff I did. Just, so wrong on so many levels.

I think Witcher 3's decision of releasing the Willock's Spirit should have made it to the list, instead of Until Dawn or Splinter Cell. That decision alone changes the fate of the orphans and the baron and his wife later on. It is very dark
