So same crap as last time and yet again the media are calling this a hack/calling them hackers when all they did was ddos the service.

From interview: "Find something else to do, cause if that is all you have to do you need a life".
I find that rich, coming from the same person who said "Because we can, chaos is entertainment. We like to piss people off because we can" and that they're joining up to have "fun this summer". Dude needs a serious reality check.

XisThatKid3256d ago

Everyone is entitled to their brand of fun. Just have to deal with consequences in the end.

UltimateMaster3256d ago

With all the server issues since the game launched, did anyone really notice the DDOS attack?

Also, is this the developers way to cover up the fact that the servers can't handle this many users at once since they claimed fixing server issues with the last patch?

Hotabang3255d ago

@ultimatemaster, the servers were working fine since two days ago, they went down due to ddos attacks, we wouldnt know that because we get the server down page regardless. (when they launched into so many countries servers were ok),, hell im playing from an unsupported country and it only fked up when the attacks happened

starrman19853256d ago

Yep, the exact same statements were made when the Playstation/Xbox servers were hacked over the Christmas period. They said that they should get off their games and do stuff, whilst ironically they were sitting at their computers doing the exact same thing.

They are just jealous of other people having a good time and rather than getting on board they want to spoil it for everyone, it's pathetic.

Ravenor3256d ago

"chaos is entertainment" so taking down Pokemon Go servers is your definition of "chaos"?, that's a bit sad and low level. The funny thing about bagging on Pokemon Go players is the game involves going outside, walking around and even some light social interaction. Things games, books and movies generally do not involve, so the whole "You need a life" while targeting Go seems a tad insane.

Also maybe I'm crazy, but this kind of reeks of high school kid logic and self aggrandizing.

JackBNimble3256d ago

Ah, they just want to be like Mr. Robot and save the world.
But then again maybe the should "Go" do something productive with their lives and get out of their mama's basement.

Rebel_Scum3256d ago

To be fair, if done well it doesn't take long to run a script to deny access to a service.

Gh05t3256d ago

You mean all the media is reporting is a ddos attack because they have done more than that. They are a hacker group, if you bothered to do 10 seconds of googling you would find a few accounts hacked and a few db compromises.

Not to mention unless they bought their botnet usually it's a hacked together botnet.

A ddos attack may not be a hack but that doesn't make the attacker not a hacker.

ZeroX98763256d ago (Edited 3256d ago )

when you weight 400 pounds and still live at your mother's place, I guess DDOSing Pokemon Go servers is "entertaining".

Instead, they should take a good walk and catch some pokemon! :)

rainslacker3256d ago (Edited 3256d ago )

Maybe they should put their hacking skills to some productive use. Maybe like hacking some ISIS people, and getting information which could help prevent terrorist attacks by informing the authorities before they happen.

I dunno, maybe do something to prevent actual chaos from happening, instead of creating it for innocent people because they find it entertaining. I'd find it very entertaining to watch some raid on an ISIS compound somewhere....but different strokes for different folks I guess.

All they're doing is annoying people, not causing any actual chaos. People get annoyed, bitch a bit on twitter, then go do something else. Quite entertaining huh? Some people just have no perception, and need any kind of validation they can get to feel important.

Wait lets go ahead and say what everyone in the comments is going to say, "they aren't even hackers guyz they are just script kiddies" "they should get a life" "they are just upset because others are happy" blahblah blah.

To those arguing why they are doing it, stop they stated why, because iuts is fun to piss you off. Their isn't some hidden motive, they laid it out right before you and it's true. It is fun to push the buttons of others. Stop with your detective reasoning, they don't give a shit what you say in the comments section, you only fuel them further by being enraged. No your cool and collected comment calling the script kiddies isn't clever enough to hide the fact that they get to you.

Timesplitter143256d ago (Edited 3256d ago )

Doesn't change the fact that they are smelly losers and that they are part of that breed of people who fell into a downward spiral of anti-social behaviour early on in their lives, and as a result they will remain sad, immature and hateful for the rest of their lives while the rest of the world is progressing forward and having a good time

joeorc3256d ago (Edited 3256d ago )

What's ironic, is why tell people you are doing this at all? The lulz? Or the chaos? Just do it, do not talk about it, do not brag about it..just do it..do they not get what the word "Anonymous" means?

LMAO...

Now other "Anonymous" members now may target their group just for the Lulz, and ironic thing is they may not brag about it, go to gain attention.. But just do it..for the chaos..I mean chaos is fun right!

thejigisup3256d ago

WTF does anonymous have to do with this?

joeorc3256d ago

@thejigisup12m ago
"WTF does anonymous have to do with this?"

It's not about the group of Anonymous.. It's about "being Anonymous" the fact is , if you want to keep staying Anonymous.. Do not draw attention to you & your group!

LoL..I mean the guy just told a media outlet, we do this for fun to get people angry and for the chaos...

Think about it...lol

rainslacker3256d ago (Edited 3256d ago )

OK, well I would give them respect if they did something more productive with their time than annoy innocent people. Just because they're transparent with their reasons, and not making up some faux "for the people" excuse like some other groups do, doesn't mean they really deserve any sort of praise or defense by anyone on the internet.

You seem awfully condoning of their actions to defend their worth as hackers. If they don't care what we have to say, then so be it, won't stop us from saying it, because we find calling them unproductive socially irresponsible losers....what's the word....oh yeah, entertaining.

And what joeorc said. If they find it entertaining, why are they going around trying to make sure people know it was them? Why not just be entertained from the fall out? Could it be possible that they seek the recognition that comes along with such actions. If that's the case, would deductive reasoning indicate they actually do care what we have to say, because if we didn't say anything, there is no chaos, and they wouldn't be entertained. I'm sure they'll act like they don't care what we have to say, and even have a good laugh at it, but if no one reacted, then where's their entertainment and ultimately, their self serving personal validation agenda goes unfulfilled.

Face it, this is just another group of hackers who seek recognition. The chaos is just their way of getting such recognition. They are no better than the script kiddies, because they do nothing productive with their skills, and do it for their own personal enjoyment, instead of something more meaningful.

You make these guys out to be the Joker who just wants to see the world burn. They aren't. They're people with serious issues in facing their lack of their own self worth.

Fullmetalevolust3256d ago

These children need to go back to school.
Man would that explain why I haven't caught a Pokemon in the last 24 hours?? Damn you hackers to nether pits of digital hell lol...I knew it had nothing to do with my gaming skills.

Kalebninja3256d ago (Edited 3256d ago )

"Chaos is entertainment" would normally sound at least a bit threatening but this guy said it like such a ***** lol.
