It all started May 2013, Don Mattrick stepped onto a conference stage in front of many eager members of the press and gamers to reveal what the world would hold its breath for – A new Xbox generation. At first, you could feel the excitement in the room, it was electric, a new console that could out-perform the Xbox 360 in most ways. But, this story isn't a simple one, fraught with misunderstandings and frankly crazy ideas even before the reveal, it seemed as though Xbox was happy to throw caution to the wind, in doing so it lost huge credibility from its fan base, it lost sales to Sony's Playstation and it lost its way.
