Video game music has a way of expressing themes and emotions that I think a lot of non-game music has to work harder to accomplish, because with video games, there’s the added immersion of experience based on direct control and player choice. A big reason I decided to pick up the guitar in middle school was because I wanted to learn some of the classic video game themes I had grown up listening to, and learning an instrument only fostered my love for game music even more.
