This is just too amazing not to share with everyone. This the full size artwork that is shown on the North American box art for Final Fantasy XV. I wonder what those shadowy figures in the background are though? Perhaps they are summons or possibly gods of some sort? Maybe they could be the main villans of Final Fantasy XV? Honestly those figures have got me intrigued as to what role they'll play in the main game. Will they be a hindrance to Noctis and friends or allies? Whatever the case I can't wait until September 30th comes around so I can get my hands on what I'm hoping will be the game that can redeem the Final Fantasy franchise which I've held near and dear to my heart since I was a child.
Final Fantasy XVI’s launch was very different than Final Fantasy XV’s and the two mainline game releases are difficult to compare for a number of reasons.
While it seems really cool and people seem to really be enjoying it, I'm in the mood for a real jrpg right now, not an action game.
This is the first mainline Final Fantasy game I didn't pick up at launch since the original FF7 on PS1.
I'll certainly get it eventually, just not in the mood for this right now. Personal taste.
They play the valuable role of ensuring we invert the cover art.
Final Fantasy XV, originally Final Fantasy Versus XIII, used to be a part of the Fabula Nova Crystallis mythology. If the story is very similar or the same as before it ceased and re-began development, then the figures must most likely be "fal'cie" type of beings. I remember Nomura saying that the terms Fal'cie and L'Cie were replaced with distinct FF15 universe terms and that those two roles still remained in the game. One evidence for this was Noctis' eyes when he makes contact with a Summon - they turn red. This is similar to Final Fantasy Type-0 where L'Cie's eyes turn cerrtain colours.
These astral beings might not be the usual summons, but probably of higher "ranks" and thus perhaps new summons specifically introduced in FF15. All I know, is I cannot wait for this game.
