After using an Elite for XB1 and a Scuf for PS4 its going to be really hard for me to use a controller that doesn't have paddles underneath.

You cant assign Keyboard commands to the Elite though. It pretty much makes the paddles useless in my opinion. How many "A" buttons do you need?

Xbox missed the boat on this one. $150 controller that is hobbled by shitty software.

I use mine on PC also and I agree it would have been great to map keyboard keys to the paddles, but it was designed primarily for the XB1 (its called the xbox one elite controller) so they felt there was no need for that.
