Do we give DLC more hate than it deserves?

To dislike DLC is a common occurrence in the world of gaming today. Many people don’t see why they should have to pay to unlock more of the game that they bought. It is seen by some people as an inconvenience and a cheap way for developers to earn more money. I completely understand why some people feel this way, but I myself feel that the basic idea (That’s the idea, mind you.) to be one that is not all that bad. And certainly does not deserve all the hate it gets.
