From Spider-Man to God of War, How Was PlayStation's Show?

The great thing was even all the VR titles looked awesome. Most of the time the VR section is up and down but I really enjoyed that section and what I saw does justify the device I think.

Was beastly and beyond what I expected.. I didn't know they would top last year's e3 like this.
And they made me wanna buy VR DAY ONE with all the awesomeness they showed.
RE7 January 24th already... Playable from start to finish with VR.
I couldn't dream of a better showing.
First spiderman game I will ever buy as well.

If there was one thing that was a let down for me it was the Skylanders Crash thing but it was reduced by the awesomeness that is the Crash original trilogy remake. Hopefully if gamers support the remake like the Ratchet and Clank reboot there would likely be new Crash games, maybe a new Crash Team Racing and Crash Bash.

Yeah it was pretty good. Horizon looks very impressive open world beauty filled with exploring, hunting and what it looks like possible crafting. I was unsure about Detroit Become Human but the multiple choices and various outcomes are makes it look intriguing. The new GOW took me by surprise its more refined, grounded, realistic slower GOW at the same time retaining that bloody combat and insane finishers. Spiderman from Insomniac? OMG yes, yes and more yes Spidey is back ppl hes freakin back, but yall don't hear me. The Last Guardian this October hopefully thats a banger.

Days Gone looks somewhat interesting but I am glad Bend is finally pumping out AAA's again. No Dreams, Polyphony GT Sports (except a reel) no Knack sequel, Shenmue sadly.

The only negative for me is no release dates and everything is in active development except Horizon which releases in February, 28 2017 be sure to check it out. We have to wait a little bit longer for some of the main games.

Watching the stream was awesome. You could almost feel the entire theater shaking when GOW and Crash popped up. I was at work with it playing on my kindle and I flipped in excitement when I heard the Crash music start. Simply amazing. Spiderman and RE7 were game of the show. Kratos being an actual character is going to be an interesting take so I'm interested in the reboot, though I hope we get to play as his son in the real game (after an intro with Kratos or maybe even switching perspectives) trying to live up to his father that would be interesting as well.

I'm not sure if you saw it, but when Kratos son shot the arrow at the deer (the user shot the arrow), it said like +5 accuracy or something like that... Seeing that Kratos didn't shoot it I don't see how he would get attributes... With that being said... I have come to the WILD conclusion that Kratos is mentoring his son to take over for him because his days are numbered. If you hear how he talked to him throughout the gameplay it just seemed like Kratos feels like he's about to die soon or something. So he's prepping his son to take on the crown as the NEW God Of War. But we will see I was like wtf is this TLOU/GOW but then when the fighting started I was like oh i'm in love. hahahaha

I got the feeling that Kratos and his son get separated(whether the son returns or is used as a hostage or turns on him who knows) or the son dies.

Honestly I felt the same and was expecting the demo to end with Kratos to fall off the waterfall with that giant or have something else take him away leaving the son in the woods alone.

Interesting... Well I will like to see what the heck goes on because I still don't get why would Kratos get attributes boosted when his son was the one shooting. And That's a lie already because you clearly see the aiming reticle come up when his son has the bow in his hand... that was a "user shot" so technically we don't play with him the whole game... Haha...

Good read but now i'm even more confused about whats happening... I just can't wait to get my sweaty hands on this.... maybe I can do like Eric Cartman on South Park and make a "time machine" like he did for the Wii release. lOl

I'd even go as far and say, for the first time ever, their lineup this year was better than everyone else's combined. It's crazy how many good games they showed compared to the other publishers, they saved the show from being truly disappointing.

I'm not gonna say their show was better than all combined by far but the reason I say they killed it is because they showed new ip's. I know most if not all of them are 2017 and beyond but that's fine with psvr coming out this year with its own library of games. Ms and ubisoft also showed great games but the difference is most we already knew about.

Also Sony addressed the 'grief' of some fans last year with indies by shifting them to the pre-show, some nice ones shown though like the Ubisoft eagle VR game and the underwater fish game.

I cannot argue with your assessment.....pretty much spot on. Sony's conference was devastating. I thought the Scorpio was very impressive...until I realized it would play not a single Sony first party studio exclusive, and no matter how powerful it is, the pc market will still be more technically capable than it even at it's launch, and every day thereafter going forward that gap will only increase. Games matter.....and Sony has a plethora of them.

To be honest there's going to be more games that I'm going to buy on X1 but ones that stood out on PS4 really stood out. Not just on the PS4 stage but the conference as a whole.

My only complaint was no gameplay for Batman Arkham VR, even though it's due at launch for PsVR. Other wise a good show. God of War looks really good. But Horizon stole the show for me again this year. The more they show the more I want it. That game just looks fun to play, and beautiful visually on top of that.

Underwhelming when compared with the last few years. No real surprises other than Insomniac being the studio that's making Spiderman, and the crash remasters which were marred by bloody skylanders!

Horizon looked absolutely incredible though, blown away!

It was an amazing conference. Game after game after game, you were processing one surprise and already there was another new game on your face. I believe Sony had the best conference with their focus on games.

MS show was boring, nothing new was announced except for hardware and I couldn't care less about it. The one good thing they did is announce a lot of release dates.

And that's what would have made a good show great for me from Sony.
At least they finally announced new games though which will get people talking about them until they release late 2017 or even 2018
