I certainly enjoy gaming a great deal. I simply haven't found many titles to get excited about. One of the games I was most excited about playing when I got a PS4 was Galak-Z, and I ended up being massively disappointed by that.

I buy games far less than other gamers do but still i have managed to buy enough to keep me happy. It purely depends on what games interests you. If Galak-Z was one of your most anticipated games on console, then i don't know man. Because games like Gears, Forza, GT, Uncharted, Final Fantasy, Halo, Super Mario, Zelda, God of War, TLOU, FIFA etc are normally the ones people anticipate most on consoles.

Maybe you're just in the wrong place.

Galak-Z? Really? I mean, cool game but if thats your most anticipated...
Have you tried other games, or do you just see trailers and go "eehhhhh, naaahh"?
No Bloodborne or Dark Souls? Those tend to shake people out of their jaded-ness sometimes.
Evil within, Witcher 3, Infamous SS, Quantum Break, Tomb Raider, Uncharted, Odin Sphere, and a ton more...

honestly speaking for me personally it's not bee a good generation so far. i think the jump from ps1 to ps2 was big than from ps2 to ps3(xbox360) but this time around we went from HD to better HD

i am still waiting for that IT experience on next gen(personal taste not a fact)

Give it some time. Most of the best games dont release in the beginning years. Perfect Dark,The Last of Us and Xenoblade released at the very end of their console cycles.

Sorry, but I beg to differ. You may well be correct in saying that YOU are disappointed in this current generation but I and my friends are certainly not. We all own the PS4 and a few of us including me also own the Xbox One and we all are more than satisfied with the amount of gaming we do on the PS4. Do we want more exclusives on the PS4? Of course, we do but then we would not be satisfied if there was one release every month on the console because games are what gamers want - always. Even now between the multi-plats and the Sony exclusives, this year, I have yet not been able to finish Doom 4 and Ratchet and Clank, both of which have been bought and shelved until I can find the time to fully enjoy them. The one console where I have been disappointed by the number of exclusives released has been the Xbox One but Microsoft seems to want to release all their major exclusives towards the end of the year ensuring that the Xbxox One gathers dust for the rest of the year.

The Wii U is a special example of the industry being unwilling to support a console for whatever reason and thereby ensuring that the console was completely reliant on Nintendo exclusives for survival. It hasn't helped that Nintendo itself did not keep the faith in their own console and ensure that they released all their major franchises on the Wii U and the console misses many of the games that the Wii and the Gamecube had.

No brand new IP has shown potential like gears, uncharted, resistance etc. from last generation. We've gotten plenty of only online games which suck too.

this generation was literally just a giant beta test/placeholder/cash grab at this point honestly ... the not even 3 years worth of console life to this point was just to tide people over and get money until a "True" next gen console upgrade could be made semi affordable for the masses ...

It's just been a never ending line up of disappointments and failures. with exception to Witcher 3, bloodborne, DS3, Uncharted 4 and Overwatch.
