According to a post by Frank O'Connor on NeoGAF, Halo 5 sold five million copies in its first three months on the market.
5mil in 3 months balling
It's balling if most were sold at full price. What happened to ROtTR happened to Halo 5. It dropped in price real quick, as much as 50% off within the first month of release. 5 million is a great number, but previous Halos have done it quicker and at full price.
You're comparing a Halo today to Halo's that came out when there weren't as many shooters in the market @Kemo are you trying to claim that there was less shooters then there is today back when the 1st Halo's came out? Because if you are that's pretty silly Doom, Division, Destiny, Overwatch, Battlefield, Call of Duty, Titanfall, etc
@samm, Your joking, right??????? @samm your statement of there went as many shooters on the market when Halo came out is silly. When Halo first came out, the market was flooded with FPS ( Wolfenstein 3D, Doom, Call of Duty, Medal of Honor, Heretic, Hexen, Quake, Duke Nukem 3D, Team Fortress, Witchaven, Sin, Half-Life, GoldenEye 007, Redneck Rampage, Unreal, Unreal Tournament and so many more) . It sounds like you are making an excuse for the lack of H5's sales and blaming it all on the oversaturation of FPS's. Did it ever occur to you the reason H5 was the worst in the series is not because of the oversaturation, but the fact the game just was nothing like the others in the Halo series. Oh, FYI...Division is a THIRD person shooter. But nice try there sparky.
Minecraft was already popular before Microsoft bought it.
What does that have to do with anything?
Still the best FPS.
Of course . at this moment halo 5 is probably 6-7 million while halo had to face black op 3 fallout4 & star war
Halo 5 is probably 6-7 million? Where on earth do you Xbox guys get your figures from? It sold no where near that amount, it's not rocket science or fanboyish to see that. It hasn't been anywhere near a top 10 sales chart since the first week it came out lol.
Its in the top selling list quite a lot and best rated on the xbox digital store. A huge majority of halo 5 sales are digital its probably alot higher than the 5mil it was merely 3 months after launch.
ugh.. welcome to this generation.. where if amazon charts doesnt say its on top, its obviously not selling anywhere else.. kids today... lol.. you do realize even NDP are estimates of retail stores, not exact total sales which only the developer/publisher know for sure
halo 5 is probably 6-7 million?? HAHAHAHAHAAHHA HAHAHAHHAAH HAHAHAAHAHA . thats what i think about that statement.
Doom campaign says Hi.
The new Doom (single player) is so much better than Halo.
doom mp is traaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaash
Halo 5 has 3 chapters where all you do is talk! of course Doom's campaign is better
Yh ok Halo 5's campaign is a little crappy... But it has by far the best multiplayer and modes out of all the FPS' games which makes it the undisputed king still. Overwatch doesn't even have a campaign lol
Halo multiplayer says F...off. 😂
I agree Halo 5 is the best FPS right now on console. Lag ops 3 is such a disappointment
Definitely the best multiplayer fps this gen.
Definitely one of the best this generation. You can probably add Doom now as well. I need to get a copy of that game. Hopefully Gears of War 4 will be even better.
these are good numbers for just one platform
The numbers are fake... a more accurate figure is under 4 million and even then it is a generous estimate. As others note below, if the 5 m figure was indeed true, Microsoft would have been shouting about it on every website but they haven't.
Microsoft needs to be less afraid of their numbers. No reason to hold back since Halo,Minecraft and Forza are raking in the green
I think when games reach certain milestone numbers, it doesn't hurt to gloat and talk up the games a bit. I don't think we need constant numbers being released...particularly for every game, or even big releases. Unfortunately, people see numbers on forums, and automatically attribute one selling less than another game, particularly on another system, as it somehow failed, while when I see a game that sold 5 million in 3 months, I see a successful game by any real measurement when it comes to making a return on investment...which insures future title releases.
I can buy that, its sounds plausible. Impressive numbers if true.
This halo we talking about sure they hype was disappointed but the mp still fun only thing is missing is spilt screen
wow thats it?
