who cares, it won't release for another 3-4 months and the game has already been run to the ground for the last 8 months...and when this finally does release they'll go 12 months of adding nothing before Destiny 2 comes out just to repeat the same grind. Also they have to nerf a bunch of weapons after the first few months of Destiny 2 and make them irrelevant for the next 24 months before the next release.

thekhurg2941d ago

The millions still playing it care.

InTheZoneAC2941d ago

really? that's like saying CoD is a great game, especially looking at the technicalities behind it, just because millions still play it.

micro transactions must also be great because millions pay into it!

...the logic...

thekhurg2941d ago

No. You said "who cares" and I told you who cares. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean the game deserves to go away. Grow up.

But fall back on cod bashing or whatever you internet clowns do when you don't have any intelligent comments to make about a game. It's amusing.

Are people seriously still trying to spin that "millions" are still playing? Got any figures to actually backup that claim or are you just spouting drivel? Granted the game ran a much lengthier course than I expected but I strongly doubt the game has anywhere near that number of unique people playing daily now.. heck even the most hardcore destiny fans on my friends list have moved on,.

I hope we move on with these Destiny and Division type games.

Maybe I am the minority, but I want a good campaign or story to go by my games. These MMO shooters are very very slim in that area. Destiny lore could have been something great - but Bungie don't even have time to explain why they don't have time to explain.

InTheZoneAC2941d ago (Edited 2941d ago )

I'm usually no critic when it comes to dialogue in a game because I feel it gets overblown, like who cares, but when that line was said in Destiny all I said to myself was, "really, you just wasted your time saying that instead of explaining?"

UnHoly_One2941d ago

I found that line hilariously terrible, but I loved that they have a sense of humor about it and later added the exotic version of her gun and named it "No time to explain".

Funny. :)

thekhurg2940d ago

Tons of games like those get released every year. Why do people that like loot shooters deserve to not get the occasional game they like?

Destiny is like a Blonde. Pretty,Shallow, and Expensive.

And pretty fun too...just like a blonde :)

DafunkyRebel2941d ago

but amazing in bed and everyone bangs 2 years straight

corroios2941d ago

Yeah, the DLC should come out next month. This game need more content straight away and not in october or november. Bungie lost their path with this game.

The worst is that if bungie launched DLC gamers would buy, but they dont....

akurtz2941d ago

acitivision led them on the wrong path

Notellin2941d ago

I can't wait for all the recycled content from a previous expansion they didn't use to be wrapped up in an incoherent story written by a 1st grade elementary class. The excitement level is off the charts!

Destiny Made Over $160 Million In Microtransaction Revenue In Less Than 2 Years

Destiny has made over $160 million in MTX revenue, and these numbers only account the data from late 2017 to early 2019.

Sgt_Slaughter390d ago

That's extremely low for microtransactions, especially for a game that's essentially designed around it

LucasRuinedChildhood390d ago (Edited 390d ago )

This was back when the game wasn't free to play.

The figures are from November 2017 to February 2019 (1 year and 4 months).

Based on that projection, the MTX revenue for Destiny 2 likely would have been closer to ~$240m for 2 years.

Not sure if premium expansions are included in that figure either although ... I'd hope that they are though and that most of the revenue was for actual content like Forsaken.

People spend way too much money on cosmetics.

Rude-ro390d ago (Edited 390d ago )

Seasons($10 and just got bumped to $12) and dungeon keys($10 each, two a year) are through the eververse(micro transaction) store.
So for those two years, in order to play a season, you would pay through micro transactions.

Sonic1881390d ago (Edited 390d ago )

Bungie Marathon will be worse since it's designed around it as well

Kurt Russell390d ago

It makes me sad to agree... but at the same time I am looking forward to giving it a go. Destiny 2 is so far in, I find it difficult to figure out what I am meant to do first.

buffig390d ago

I think FIFA alone makes over $1bn a year from mtx

anast390d ago

FIFA promotes a worldwide sport. It should make more money than destiny.

CantThinkOfAUsername390d ago (Edited 390d ago )

Let's compare something similar. Apex Legends and its ridiculous $18/$40 skins make EA a billion each year.

z2g390d ago

For as much as ppl complain how much they hate microtransactions, they sure don’t act like it. No wonder they aren’t going anywhere.

spicelicka390d ago

By "people" you're referring to millions and millions of people. Obviously the ones complaining aren't necessarily the same as the ones spending all that money.

There's millions that purchase MTX and there's nothing we can do about it

I've been thinking about playing through D1 again before it goes away...

CobraKai541d ago

That’s the sad reality of a game like this. I bought it, invested lots of money, and it can go away at anytime. I still think this was more fun than 2.

jeromeface540d ago

prob because 2 is a grindfest slog

spoonard538d ago

That's the bummer of 'games as a service'.
