Death isn't really a light hearted subject; it is rarely a time of fun for anyone. Least of all those who are dying – it can really put a crimp in their social life. And yet gently mad developer Gently Mad decided to make a game about it.
In Between is a pretty bleak game, thematically speaking. The protagonist is dying and you, the player, occupy his brain. As you solve puzzles you uncover memories that trigger a nostalgic, and sometimes philosophical, narration. This atmospheric platformer is a game that will make you question many different things – life, mortality, even the nature of up and down.
In Between is a great platforming puzzle game that engages with death head on. With challenging puzzles and an artistic style that is beautiful and unique, In Between presents a touching story and a puzzle game that will keep you entertained for hours.
