The announcement of Disney canceling Disney Infinity so many gamers were
disappointed. The last few years have been good for the so call life to
toys games. Skylanders, Lego Dimensions, Disney Infinity, Nintendo’s
Amiibos have all filled this niche. The bigger question reminds is this the
slow decline of the popularity across the genre?
Retailer listings indicate that there'll be a price increase for various Nintendo amiibo that have been announced for 2025.
$40 is absolutely ridiculous. $15 made sense, but you can literally get full on games for $40… what in the hell is going on?

NE: "Nintendo's beloved lineup of amiibo figures turns 10 years old - we reminisce over its past, present, and future."
I personally believe Nintendo dropped the ball with the Amiibos, had they made it instead of DLC, but for a game world it could have been a lot bigger. Imagine having the Starfox crew fighting along side Samus or Pokemon in the world of Zelda.
The idea of having an open world type game with the Nintendo characters could have been huge. Seeing the characters from Golden Sun meeting Fire Emblem's characters could have been neat. This could have easily been the next Nintendo crossover since Super Smash Bros. but it sadly wasn't meant to be.
