I don't know how many more times we can say do it, before they actually get the message but ok....

For the Million and one times 2 - Remake Battlefield Bad Company 2 EA/DICE... WTF? Can You Here Me Now?

SolidStoner2913d ago

I would say BF 1942 or Vietnam would be a better remasters choice, since they are oldest and a lot fans miss them...

_-EDMIX-_2912d ago

I like Battlefield Bad Company 2 as one of my favorite older ones but I would have to agree with others and saying maybe it's best to remake 1942 or Battlefield 2 or even 2142.

b163o12913d ago

DO IT, DO IT NOW, EVERYONE GET TO THE CHOPPA!! (InMyBestArnoldVoice)

Oschino19072913d ago (Edited 2913d ago )

Not to be nit picky but the actual quotes are "Run! Go! Get to the chopper!" and later in the movie "Do it. Do it! Come on do it now!"

DragoonsScaleLegends2913d ago

Personally Battlefield 1943 is my favorite, a remaster would be awesome.

Oschino19072913d ago

Would be great if they did that and kept it $15 like is was when it first came out.

spektical2913d ago

just want bad company 2 remastered please.. :(

Oschino19072913d ago

And 32 players on console this time.

senorfartcushion2913d ago

So the majority WANT is to spend money A SECOND TIME on a game people already own?

SolidDuck2913d ago

Yes. On remastered bad company 2. I would gladly pay a full $60 for it.

_-EDMIX-_2912d ago

Since when do we own the remastered version of this game? On new servers? With fixes?

What part of remaster don't you understand? Lol

I own Call of Duty 4 on Playstation 3 my Playstation 3 is working just fine right next to my Playstation 4 what I don't have is a remastered version of that game.

What i don't have is that game running on better servers without cheaters so yes I will pay to play an updated version of a game I already own as it's very clear what I own is not in the state I would want it to be in.

Owning a multiplayer game from 6 years ago doesn't necessarily mean you're also playing it in the best state I'm sorry but I'd rather play on New servers along with some upgrades then just playing my older dated version.

Yetter2913d ago

I didn't play a ton of it but BadCompany 2 seems like a no brainer. Its all battlefield fans talk about

Ark_2913d ago

It's all Battlefield Fans on consoles talk about ...
If you ask the PC crowd, they propably would want to have BF2 remastered.

Inzo2913d ago (Edited 2913d ago )

Then remaster Bad Company because every BF arter that sucks. Or better yet, remaster Black.

EazyC2913d ago

What's Black? The Criterion shooter?

Kyosuke_Sanada2913d ago (Edited 2913d ago )

Yes, it was one of the best shooters I ever played on Playstation 2 and proved that not every shooter needs multiplayer to be memorable.

This reminds me... I have ME on my PS3 hdd. Never really played it, but it was free.

XiNatsuDragnel417d ago

Digital future ppl is good they say nope imo

Eidolon417d ago

And it still says nothing about being able to downloaded even when it's off the storefront, that's a huge ouchie for some who somehow still have it in their backlog...

Shane Kim417d ago

Dont make it an issue when it's not. If you haven't played it in 15 years, chances are you'll never play it.

isarai417d ago

That all digital future sure looks great!

zidane1341417d ago (Edited 417d ago )

Online game servers shut off eventually all the time. Doesn’t matter if you have the disc or not. Even if you have the disc, it’ll be just paperweight unless the game lets you connect directly to a friend or LAN play.

isarai417d ago (Edited 417d ago )

Read the article bro. They are delisting the games, including mirrors edge which is an offline game. Online servers i can understand, not being able to buy/download the games anymore? Completely separate issue, especially seeing as how some these games had lengthy sp campaigns and not just mp.

zidane1341417d ago

@israrai, you can still buy the disc for less then 10$. Hardly a loss.

TheEnigma313417d ago

You shouldn't have to buy the disc, that's the issue.

OhReginald417d ago (Edited 417d ago )

Some brilliant minds created servers to keep these old online games alive. A lot of ps2 and ps3 games that had there servers shut down a long time ago have been restored by fans to keep it going. Warhawk, killzone 2, socom 2/ confrontation, resident evil outbreak series, etc.

DankSinatra416d ago

The disc still exist. I don’t understand the issue. You guys are upset about that “all digital future” yet these games are not “digital only”. Hell digital only is a minority in the gaming world and so far we haven’t moved into it, the only digital only games are games as a service or online only games, which end up failing in the end.

This is no different than a store that stops selling old games, just go and buy a copy somewhere else. So which is it, you hate all digital or you like it? Make up your mind.

isarai416d ago

Talk about missing the point entirely. I'm not going to sit here and explain it to you, figure it out.

DankSinatra416d ago

Talk about whining about something and not wanting to explain from an off handed sarcastic original comment.

I got the point just fine. You’re literally complaining about something that has an easy alternative to it.

ManMarmalade416d ago

I don't think you got the point

DankSinatra416d ago (Edited 416d ago )

@ManMarmalade

No I got it, it has to do with the push towards a future of all digital and reprocussions of losing games. Something I already stayed that hasn’t happened nor is it large enough right now to cause any issues as the games that are all digital are online only to begin with or make up the minority of games

So I’ll say it again, the disc still exists for these games that are over a decade old and can still be played easily. You guys are contradicting the whole “we don’t want a digital only future” crying when the dude I originally responded to stated:

“Read the article bro. They are delisting the games, including mirrors edge which is an offline game. Online servers i can understand, not being able to buy/download the games anymore? Completely separate issue, especially seeing as how some these games had lengthy sp campaigns and not just mp.“

So again, which is it? Do you hate all digital or do you want it?

Inverno417d ago

On PC I don't think it's much of a problem but I'm sad to see BF43 being shut down. I haven't played it in a while since it's stuck on PS3, but i preferred it way more over BF3. It was the lack of invisible barriers which made it better for me.

badz149417d ago

BFBC2 was still the best overall package offered by the franchise so far IMO

porkChop417d ago

Absolutely. BC2 was such a great game. It's a shame we never got BC3.

P_Bomb416d ago

I had a great run on Bad Company 2. Pound for pound, as solid a BF package as there’s been.

InUrFoxHole417d ago

Does anyone play the last BF anymore? I searched crossplay servers and it was 20 people the most on all the servers? Can never find a game

SonyStyled417d ago

The last BC you mean? I was still able to find 10v10 on ps3 2 years ago on NA servers during the evenings. I have all the free and paid dlc installed, but there want any matches in the Vietnam dlc.

18 classic PC games you still can't get digitally

PCGamer : One of the great strengths of PC gaming is a back catalogue that spans decades. Companies like Nintendo emulate older games on their modern consoles, but that can't compare to the thousands and thousands of games you can track down from the history of the PC. But not every banger that's ever dropped on DOS or Windows is so easy to find. Some of the all-time greats still aren't available digitally even now, and your only legal way to play them is to hunt for a boxed copy on Ebay and hope it plays well with modern Windows.

Like the article said, No One Lives Forever has no known owner. This mean you can't buy it, but you can (for now) download it for free without repercussions. Just go to nolfrevival(dot)tk to get the whole series for free. Lol

FreeckyCake876d ago

I would add Prey (2006). Can't get it for PC to this day.

lonewolf10876d ago

Rumor on the street is it's coming to the Epic store, maybe the free mystery game today (which will be revealed in little over an hour)?

lonewolf10876d ago

@Raiden ooo not sure I may be getting confused on the versions, sorry.

Eamon876d ago

Underrated game. Level Design was groundbreaking.

876d ago
Fntastic876d ago

Black & White was decent, back then my most played would be Worms 2 for the online multiplayer tho.

NOLF i didn't really get into.. I was busy enjoying Soldier of Fortune 2 online multiplayer in 2002 until the next big thing came in 2004: Half Life 2 and then the free online DM mode which came slightly after.

frostypants876d ago (Edited 876d ago )

I have a copy of Black & White lying around somewhere. Haven't played it in 15 years. Wonder if it's worth anything. Interesting game...like Populous or something, but I could terrorize the people with my 300ft demon cow. It never quite got the balance between people management and creature training right though. Always felt disjointed.

maelstromb876d ago (Edited 876d ago )

You missed out if you never played the NOLF games... they were fantastic and hilarious, and still to this day, not a game has come close to replicating the magic of those games. I've read many articles over the years about how Night Dive Studios has tried desperately to corral the rights on multiple occasions, but alas... the source code is seemingly missing/gone and no one truly knows who owns it. Unbelievable, really... So, if we ever hope to see the NOLF games live on, someone would have to build it from scratch. :/

I did love me some Soldier of Fortune 1 & 2, as well... they were janky at times, but so much fun.

mastershredder876d ago

Takes a bunch of random games that were not available digitally and complains or makes a obvious point? that you cant get them anymore. Yeah, the gen x game list probably will do that.

And then there us the matter most of these can still be obtained (digitally) even some legally for free. Was this just a random thought? Oh gee I miss these games (or maybe I heard of), let me me pull something out of my butt for an article.

The Battlefield Series Peaked With Bad Company 2

Battlefield 2042, the next entry in DICE's series of big, noisy multiplayer shooters, is set in a grim vision of the future where climate change has irreparably ravaged the planet and everyone is divided, angry, and depressed. So basically like the world today, but with more robot dogs. The series didn't always take itself so seriously, though.

Back in the spring of 2010, EA's flagship studio launched Bad Company 2, a delightfully silly, self-aware shake-up of the series' established formula that not only had an infectious sense of fun, but was a killer FPS in its own right. Some honestly don't think there's been a better Battlefield since.

Nah for me imo was battlefield 3

LucasRuinedChildhood987d ago (Edited 987d ago )

It depends on what you're looking for. Destruction was far better in BC2 (it was consistently a real gameplay factor) and the maps were better designed for Rush.

Arica Harbour is a good example of a map that would feel very different as a match progressed as buildings around you were getting decimated.

BF3 had planes, bigger maps and the ability to go prone so I'd understand why some would prefer it. They are different.

THEDON82z1986d ago (Edited 986d ago )

Battlefield Bad Company 2 was the best hands down. I have been craving for that level of destruction for a long time. Its sad how they choose to dial it back over the years instead of going head strong into giving us more destruction. That was the one game that kept camping to a minimum.

LordoftheCritics986d ago (Edited 986d ago )

I liked the gunplay, movements, camera work besides all the sound and various improvements of BF3.

There's a lot more than just planes, bigger maps and going prone. I enjoyed BC2 but BF3 felt like a big upgrade.

franwex987d ago

I agree. In 11 years they have not been able to replicate the experience.

WeAreLegion987d ago (Edited 987d ago )

For multiplayer, possibly. Bad Company had a better campaign than Bad Company 2 though.

I personally enjoy Battlefield 2 more than any of the others.

Fluke_Skywalker986d ago (Edited 986d ago )

The first Bad Company had the only good campaign of the whole BF series imho. All others just felt generic and tacked on to appease console manufacturers. I just recently replayed the BC campaign and it was brilliant. Thoroughly underrated game that one.

ALMGNOON987d ago

Someone clearly didn't play BF3 or BF4...

LucasRuinedChildhood987d ago (Edited 987d ago )

Nah. There's a reason people used to always plead for a Bad Company 3 even after those games released - destruction ... which was massively toned down in BF3 and BF4. It was 90% reduced to just being a gimmick.

Rush is also at its best in BC2, and it has fantastic, chaotic maps with very little downtime. I still like BF3 a lot but BC2 was pure fun. BF4 was alright but most of the launch maps were fairly weak.

If you prefer BF3 and BF4, fair enough, but there's plenty of reasons to prefer BC2. They're different.

Fluke_Skywalker986d ago

Someone clearly didn't play BC2.

ssmilloy36986d ago

maybe it's because both were unplayable at launch?

yeahokwhatever987d ago

I still like 1942, Desert Combat, and BF2 the most. In that order. :-)

badz149987d ago (Edited 987d ago )

but the SP campaign suck! BFBC2 had a good SP campaign and great MP

forsakenskys985d ago

Yeah bf3 sp campaign was bad. Bf2 was also fun mp
