Unannounced PS4 Phyre Engine Port In Development At Heavy Rain PS4 Dev, Possibly Demon's Souls?

Demon's Souls is a game that has been long requested from fans to get a proper remaster on PS4 since it originally released back in 2009 exclusively for the PS3.

@Ritchi- I don't really see that being a huge factor. Many reasons might exist why many might not buy a remaster of Demon Souls so I don't think Sony will be looking at that on weather or not to make a sequel.

Considering they already made Bloodborne, I think Demon Souls 2 can happen, regardless of a Demon Souls 1 remaster. Many cite a remaster as "reasons" for a sequel, but many times companies have games already being worked on long before a port is even started or considered.

This is NOT something to be all whimsical about. Do not tease me. My 2 most wanted IP ports are DemS/DS and Bioshock.

Though it is odd that this game is not on PS Now either. Why? I would be insanely happy. It's really smart too with the success of BB, DS2SotFS and DS3. It would sell very well.

Wow perfect timing. I beat Demon Souls at least five times and i was just helping out my son who is playing through it. He is 9 and loves all the Souls games. One of my wishes is for a DS sequel or a remaster with some added levels, id be in heaven.

Thats true dark souls 1 was had really big worlds that were connected to each other, and the load times were good (we all lived with the fps drops, so it was minor). Good point

Dark Souls 1 used the same engine as Demon's Souls. Dark souls 2 on the other hand used a new engine, I'm not sure whats the name of the engine though.

played demons souls religiously for 2 years , skipped darks souls 1 and 2 but i"m playing ds3 atm .. One thing I've noticed is in DeS there was wayyyy more blood .... like literally you would get soaked in it

Of course, if you like blood and the odd limb(s) flying off as well look no further than The Witcher 3 (best played on "Death March") and Nioh (very gritty).

Personally, I would welcome new IP from "From Software" but I would not say no to a Demon's Souls 2 however, I do think a Demon's Souls remaster with additional content at 60fps or at least a locked 30fps would be a nice money maker that would not be all that difficult to do.

I hear you, but playing Demon Souls on PS3 is a strange experience, if you roll through some boxes the frame rate suffers big time, or explosions etc. I never managed to finish it! wouldn't mind a remaster whatsoever but what you're saying is appealing also!

Sucker Punch historically creates its own engines.

I don't begrudge a remaster but I would prefer if the developer does a remaster they add additional content or in the case of an RPG they change some of the maps and preferably some of the story and events although it does not have to be completely different but just different enough for people who played the original to justify the purchase
As an example, I do have Final fantasy 10 and 12 as well as Demon's and Dark Souls. There would be a real incentive to repurchase Demon's and Dark Souls for the PS4 since I have a PS3.

As for FF10 and FF12, I have a backwards compatible PS3 and while the graphics are nowhere near as good as what I would expect of a remaster for the PS3 or PS4 the graphics which I can display on my TV or monitor are very acceptable.

The only incentive for me to repurchase a game I already own would be to provide additional content and some changes to the story.

Demon's soul is an Atlus title. They are busy with so much else so...this is a Dark Soul Remaster

From a nostalgia point of view, I would agree however, I would prefer new IP although I would not say no to similarities.

As an example, Bllodborne IMHO is a spiritual successor to Demon's Souls in that you have a central hub ("Nexus" for DeS and "Hunters Dream" in BB) and a Girl who will help you level up. The differences being that BB has a Gothic setting while DeS is more a Medieval setting.
