Interesting Dark Souls 3 PC statistics reveal how committed the player-base are

From GameWatcher: "As you are probably aware, the Dark Souls series is known for being notoriously difficult, a fact that reflected in the Steam achievement page.

The Steam achievement system not only shows players if they have earned an achievement, it also shows the percentage of players with a specific achievement. When looking at a game like Dark Souls, people can see just how committed (or uncommitted) the player-base is when it comes to completing the game."

Oh yeah, I think even the platinum trophies have had a better than averange percentage than in easier games.

Got the platinum last night, it currently stands at 2.2%. If you check Bloodborne it is about 7% If I recall which is impressive when you consider how much that game sold AND the defiled chalice dungeon being necessary.

Wow. Didn't know that. The crowd that plays these games are a tough SOBs.

Yeah, though Im not sure if Im going for the platinum in DaS3. Bloodborne I plat'ed because the goal was pretty clear and it made sense to collect all the unique weapons and go through the dungeons to the unique boss.

DaS3 requires to go through the game 3 times if Im thinking about this thing right, and even then if you plan it properly.

Im preparing for the platinum by maxing all the covenants on my main character (which means lots of farming, since there seems to be something weird going on with the auto summon covenants).

Since you probably know... do I need both Prince's weapons, AND the combined weapon at the same time for the platinum? I dont remember if they had a "collect all unique weapons" trophy.

There is no trophy for Weapons at all. Its literally just the Sorceries, Miracles, Pyromancies and Rings. Don't trade souls for weapons as it will be a waste and may require more runs than necessary, plus most are awful. Always trade for ring and spells.

I can imagine. I jump back on Demon Souls and Dark Souls 1 and they are still populated with ppl copping and playing after all these years.

I think Souls fans as a whole on all platforms and pc are very diehard and committed. Plus to Fromsoft credit they make games with high replayability.

These games bore me to tears. I don’t mind the difficulty it’s just the constant killing the same enemies over every time you rest that makes it so monotonous

You open up a lot of shortcuts so you can skip many enemies. But if I don’t like games I don’t buy them.
