I'm so happy theu are going back in time. I wanna play a good fps that isn't 100 years in the future.

Today, we have the tech to tell some really damn good war stories, with all the emotion and heartbreak. And gaming can do it like nothing else can. I don't give a shit about spaceships etc. I'll play other games for that. What made MW so great was it's story, and the ability to make you feel.

I'm super excited about Battlefield.

I respect history and playing game in WW1 would be better than any history video if done right, hope they stay true hardcore and let History to speak by itself with authentic guns, locations and events.. New generation kids could learn from that about past..

Lol. My friends and I used to joke that everyone was so antsy to show off their game before E3 that they would show off their game after the day of E3 and just put the next following year to get ahead of the Curve lol.

Be like the day after E3 2016 they're going to be like "debut of Modern Warfare Ghosts 2 E3 2017".

Sounds like they're just trying to get ahead of the November Rush so that way they have a head-start against competition in November and December. Watch next year they're going to release some of their fall games in like spring so that way they could get ahead of the other fall games also trying to release in Spring lol I can't!

Agreed, but I think they went a little too far back lol. We'll see how it works out though. I perefer the SOCOM style balance, where it's more about talent of the player than leveling, gimmicks, & space-aged homo-jumps & jetpacks...

Nvidia just announced the GTX 1080 and it's faster than a Titan X. I'll be getting one of those in June and it's going to be amazing playing games like Battlefield 1 maxed out on it.

I'm not sure I really care. I think it's Unique calling it Battlefield 1 in their respective Battlefield World War 1.

Battlefield has always named itself after its themes and by years of themes only iterations with numbers have been modern. I do think 1 is a bad name for it. Should be the year WW1 started

I must express a little bit of concern. WW1? Love it. Harlem Hellfighters? Love it. But will this just be a reskin of Battlefield 4 where the combat feels extremely modern? I worry they won't capture the essence of the old WW1 weapons. For example, single shot weapons that are extremely deadly if shot in the head but if you miss you are stuck reloading for 3 seconds. Automatic weapons that you cannot spray because the recoil is too intense. Sniper rifles that aren't extremely accurate and takes tons of skill to use properly. These are things that need to be in a WW1 shooter.

Personally I am a fan of the futuristic sci-fi and cyberpunk genera, never been a fan of games set in an older timeline with no sci-fi roots.

A game like Fallout 4 is about my limit, basically its set in an old-world, but injected with futuristic sci-fi elements. Same can be said about the Assassins Creed series too.

But pure old world with old-world tech, weapons and gadgets? No thanks.

I am really excited for this new setting of World War 1! I always appreciated games that take this setting, especially games like Verdun. To be honest though, I do not understand the hate for a future setting for Battlefield. I am sure if people played Battefield 2142, they would understand that Battlefield 2143 would have been amazingly epic with the new technology. I believe that many people don't understand that a future setting for Battlefield would have been good because many did not play Battlefield 2142, which is PC-exclusive from what I remember. It is a shame though since it was an amazing game and inspired one of the expansions for Battlefield 4. That expansion was great (the one with the warships and boarding them), but I don't think it really captured the feeling of boarding the huge Titan ships in 2142. Still though, I really appreciate taking the setting back to World War 1. A lot of possibility and it looks AMAZING in that trailer. Anticipating for more. Sorry for the little rant there, I just get a little disappointed when people do not want a future Battlefield, but it has a ton of possibility for it as well.
Bottom line is, any Battlefield title is a reason to get excited, no matter the setting :)
