Like many other online games, Dark Souls 3 fight clubs have their own set of unspoken rules that should be followed for proper etiquette.

Completely contradicting article.

On one hand, "Don't be a jeark", and on the other "Anything goes...."

I was never big on Dark Souls, I've had them all but have never been a deep fan of the games. But now with 3 and the PVP aspect that a friend has gotten me into, I've seen a lot of dick heads, but also some decent people.

In fact I was chased down by 3 phantoms who relentlessly killed me. I've had my bouts of 1v1 with others, but then times where a person won't let you fight fair.

Liqu1d3297d ago

If you're invading using the red eye orb or being invaded then there's no requirement to fight fair, anything goes in random invasions.

Razputin3297d ago

I host a fight club, and I'd say 9/10 participants fight fair.

But then you have those idiots that see a 1v1 and jump in, only to get hammered.

joab7773297d ago

Exactly this. Just always be prepared. If you go to certain areas you can duel. If you are invading, first off, this ain't DS1, so be prepared to get ganked. The tables have flipped. It ain't red's world anymore. Second, expect anything with invasions. Killing the other phantom any way you can is the name of the game.

PurpHerbison3297d ago

If you are doing traditional invasions, get used to the BS. I thought invasions were bad in BB but DS3 is a different story. You will almost always encounter a gank squad. It is more common to find yourself in a 1v4, or 1v5 situation than a good old fashion 1v1. That being said, if you want 1v1s, try putting your red soap sign down somewhere. This won't guarantee proper duels all the time but it is the best option you have.

The first rule of DS3 Fight Club is: you do not talk about DS3 Fight Club. The second rule of DS3 Fight Club is: you DO NOT talk about DS3 Fight Club! Third rule of DS3 Fight Club: if someone yells “stop!”, goes limp, or taps out, the fight is over. Fourth rule: only two guys to a fight.

Would you like to buy some Soap?

In an organized fight club you don't heal and you don't jump into other peoples fights. You are not required to gesture but it is frowned upon if you interrupt someones opening gesture with an attack. That is about it.

slappy5083297d ago

The 2nd rule of Fight Club is to have fun and always try your best.

MeteorPanda3297d ago

l die inside when they run off to heal. That and one guy prepared a spell when l was gesturing. I guess the newcomers havn't been introduced to the old ways

TheBeguiler3297d ago

There are a lot more new players than I expected for DS3

MeteorPanda3297d ago

yeah, there's been a lot more advertisement and positive reception in reviews for this game than others, it's finally gotten the recognition it deserved. I saw new players in bloodborne!

PurpHerbison3297d ago

I wish estus had a longer animation. It is practically a reskinned blood vial with how fast it works. It is WAY too easy to heal during a fight with another player. At the very least they should of made it so if you hit the player during a certain set of frames while they are healing you get a free riposte.

TheBeguiler3297d ago

I couldn't agree more. The healing speed is crazy fast and makes stopping them exceptionally difficult. You have to be right on them to stop the heal and punish effectively

joab7773297d ago

At least during invasions. I wonder if people standing around could throw charms lol! But yeah, a longer animation during PvP would make it risk/reward.

How do people feel about using miracles in a fight? 99/100 x it will get you killed, but something like that is how it should work. Unfortuantely, this is only good for duels, because estus is nice when it's 3v1.

PurpHerbison3296d ago

Or at the VERY LEAST, make the lloyds talisman an AOE that doesn't have to hit directly. Nothing too extreme, but only being allowed to hold 5 talismans that have to directly hit the opponent is too easy to dodge.

joab7773297d ago

That's it too. There are a ton of new players tgat honestly don't know what to do. And they don't want to let you get the jump. Often, they are twitchy and by the time you gesture, they've already committed to an attack. Good news is, you will most likely recover and win.

These games bore me to tears. I don’t mind the difficulty it’s just the constant killing the same enemies over every time you rest that makes it so monotonous

jznrpg540d ago

You open up a lot of shortcuts so you can skip many enemies. But if I don’t like games I don’t buy them.
