Did the Multiplayer Online Battle Arena Kill Real-Time Strategy?

I really miss the golden Era of RTS. Company of Heroes is still one of my all time favourite games, but eve before that games like Rise of Nations and Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds were ace. MOBA has definitely shifted popularity away from those sorts of games.

I think people tend to want something a little more fast paced these days. I enjoyed sinking hours into Age of Empires, but there is also an appeal to getting stuck into a quicker game as well.
