There have been some weird controllers made for video games over the years. Namco’s NeGcon was one of the strangest, but it was awesome.
June 2025 is packed with new racing video games releases, as the Switch 2 is set to dominate the discussion.
This will be the first time the original 1993 arcade Ridge Racer has appeared on home consoles.
I hear rumors that Evercade may also be getting a Namco Arcade cart with RR and Tekken on it. That would be sweet as their previous Namco Console carts have also recently been updated to work on the VS. Previously, they only had the license to the handheld. so the OG Evercade and the EXP and even the Alpha were supported, but not the VS.
Ridge Racer DS was part of a campaign to have the Nintendo DS' touchscreen redefine input, with mixed results.
Still own two of these bad boys, it worked really well with Wipeout and Ace Combat 2 as well
I think I have seen one in my local retro game store. Just sitting there in a transparent plastic box with other obscure controllers.
Too bad I probably dont have any compatible games, it looks funny.
