Alienation review - Eurogamer

"Housemarque's latest offers brilliant loot and levelling, but it's the moment-to-moment action that truly excels."

It has a metacritic of 80 so far.

Thats pretty good for a small developer.

:)

Housemarque are known to make quality titles.
Also wouldn't say they are as small as others, they teamed up with Sony Xdev team also co-devleloping this game since Sony owns the IP

Tsunade3297d ago

That's even higher than Quantum Break score!

Forgot all about this game but it is now on my radar again.

Ohhhhh short campaign with relatively low replayability or incentive to replay hmmmm that kinda kills it for me but ill keep an eye on it,

Palitera3297d ago

I haven't seen mentions about it being short. TBH, even if it is short, it looks designed towards some grinds, so I'm okay while it is varied and fun.

Wallstreet373297d ago

I was looking at the metacritic reviews and few of them mentioned it.

As a matter of fact the review right before that one also says its very repetitive.

Palitera3297d ago

Well, I obviously haven't played the game yet, but this one is the lesser score it has received so far, so I'd take it with a huge grain of alien salt.

About it being repetitive, think about Diablo and Borderlands... "Alienation‘s main appeal is the loot grind". It can be good or bad, and people might even disagree if it is one or the other. It seems that this reviewer didn't enjoy the game at all, while other had similar experiences and loved it.

I still bet I'm gonna be on the second group.

Voice is back! WooHoo!

""Multiplier up." That voice! That perfect Housemarque voice, so calm in the face of chaos, so endlessly assured. In Resogun, she spoke to you through your controller - a wonderful piece of release-window magic that did more to make the PS4 feel exciting and new than almost anything else in the early line-up. In Alienation, she's back, bringing a hint of order to the manic battlefield of this relentless twin-stick shooter, and suggesting that, no matter how bad things seem right now, there is always the chance of a little showboating."

One of my most anticipated, considering these guys made Dead Nation.

The VR version of Stardust is an incredible experience, even for those that get VR sickness, the game gives you the feeling of floating in the vastness of space, but the motion sickness is removed, its colorful, flashy, and amazing to play

Not that good of a flash sale, but hey already got enough to play for years.

Spikeantestor2543d ago

Same. I just made a list on my phone of every game I have that I haven't finished/just scratched the surface of/want to play but haven't even started yet. When I get the urge to spend on some game I won't even play I'll look at that list and it should bring me back to reality.

Most of these games are terrible

Palitera2543d ago

Darkest Dungeon, INSIDE, Journey, The Crew, Alienation, Nex Machina, Deus Ex, Dragon Age, Titanfall, Helldivers, Need For Speed, BF4, Dead Rising etc.

Really?

adaminoregon2543d ago

How the heck can a dynamic theme cost more than the actual game? #firewatch.

rdgneoz32543d ago

"Dynamic Theme Bundle" - "This bundle includes Firewatch and the Firewatch Theme."

So for $0.50 more, you get a theme. Not, 'the theme costs $5.49'...

pyroxxx2543d ago

Got valkyria chronicles remastered & Inside/Limbo bundle for under 20 both,.. So I am Ok with it

MrVux0002543d ago

It's a good sale.
But i'm expecting really big sales during E3 2018, so i would hold of from purchasing games until then.
