Development on the PlayStation 5 may be up in the air according to Sony's President of Worldwide Studios; so where does Sony go from here?
PlayStation boss believes that $80 games are affordable due to the value they provide. Using Mario Kart as an example, he noted that it offers numerous hours of gameplay with just one purchase.
I get the concept.
People buy movies for $20-$30 dollars that offers only a couple of hours of enjoyment.
While games offers 3-10+ times the amount of hours and content.
So in theory yeah I get it.
But I will never accept it and would rather keep the price now or even better PS360 price lol
The value of an $80 all-you-can-eat buffet is undeniable, making it curious why some people choose a $20 restaurant for a single, standard meal.
In a similar vein, movies, despite their higher production costs for a two-hour experience, outperform video games in revenue while also being priced around $20. Suggesting that video games need 100 hours of diluted gameplay to compete seems like a misdirection. The real solution might lie in re-evaluating how their core offering is valued.
Lol so rich people want to speak for my wallet now? I still haven’t adapted to 70$ yet, and not planing on to. I don’t mind waiting on sales.
One of the founding members of the Xbox team has questioned Microsoft’s multiplatform gaming strategy, and said they believe the Xbox hardware business is effectively “dead"
Think that rumor that they'll still make a new console but at a profit at $1000 will be true though. The series consoles will remain their cheap alternative throughout next gen I would say. Keep in mind that game pass and pretty much going 3rd party is their main focus. They want to bring xbox everywhere.
Owlcat Games producer Anatoly Shestov reveals his dream project: an SCP game with Owlcat RPG flair and a proper budget.
Is there really nothing else going on within the industry?
People seriously milking this topic over a dinner conversation where somebody who works for company didn't confirm if they're making a next console, AS their current one has only been on the market for almost 3 years... Shocker!
SMH
How can a company or its representatives know what is likely to happen 10 years into the future?
Sony will go exactly where people expect them to go based on the leaked plans for the PS4K.
Um..... Beyond
Speculating that there may be no PS5 seems silly with all the Neo rumors floating around. Sony isn't sure there's a market for a PS5, but they're sure there's a market for a 4.5
Anyone who listens to these guys must be tabloid readers. Sure Sony isn't going to make a PS5, after PS4's wild success...I suppose Glock is going to stop making 9mm's after this year also?
