I would cry like a little girl if ts AW2 sinve AW1 was my favorite game last gen but I stocked that Remedy is working on something in general.

If its a MS exclusive then I need to give MS probs for funding these guys even though the games aren't selling millions.

Quantum Break was great but the TV show tie in was kind of a mistake in my opinion. I would rather have seen that money spent on the actual game. The in-game cinematics were plenty good for conveying the story.

Hopefully its multi-platform and PC... I feel they need to get out of Microsofts shadow and take on their own risk. (plus no more forced in ADDs ...It cheapens the experience, and the game suffers from it. personally)

MS gives them a big budget and freedom to do what ever they want...did you know that the TV series was Remedy's idea and MS just gave them the money for it.

Also MS gave them the rights to the Alan Wake ip .....how many publishers are Willimg to do all that?

It's all according to how much things like "sales" or "audience size" mean to them. I personally don't see why any third parties would stay exclusive to any single box, because it limits their sales potential & their audience size.

You are making a lot of assumptions based solely off of PR speak & inferences. I'm sure the spiel is that Ms gives them freedom to make the games they want to make, but I've never read a single instance where Remedy specifically called the show "their idea"...was the entire MS XBO TV initiative from the first reveal their idea as well or just a convenient coincidence? Sounds more plausible that they were informed of the TV initiative & told they'd be funded if they wanted to try that route.

Either way, I'm fairly certain that Remedy don't need MS to find funding...they are a developer w/ a long track record of quality that could take their pick on where they want to go.

Insomniac had a long history of making exclusive Sony games & "loving" their work with them but they have ventured outside of that & you guys got Sunset Overdrive out of the deal...would you consider that venture anything less than worthwhile?

Remedy already got paid regardless on how bad or good the game sold and MS covered all the development and Marketing cost.

Lets say Remedy went all out with Alan Wake wit no help and released it on all 3 platforms...yes they might have sold alot more but its a big gamble to out all your eggs on a new ip and plus Alan Wake had a 5 year development cycle do you know how much money that is from your own pocket.

I would love to find the link where the big guy from Remedy was talking about how they always wanted to do a tv show tie in and that Alan Wake was also suppose to follow that idea but they did not have the budget at the time.

I dont see you Sony fans saying the same thing about Quantic Dreams and how they need to stop making exclusive games for Sony -_- double standard much.

You are missing my point. I never said that Remedy should self publish unless that works for them. Self publishing could be a big gamble but they also stand to gain a helluva lot more if they took it. Even beyond that they could still find a third party to publish their games, not like MS is the only place that Remedy could ever make a game. Also, things like bonuses are still typically based off of sales & critical reception, so sales are still vital regardless of whether or not Remedy has a deal w/ MS. To consider sales & reception irrelevant to Remedy makes me wonder which one of us it is that doesn't understand how these things go.

It also goes beyond that too, because fanbase is as important as anything else, and if Remedy tested the multiplat waters then they could grow their fanbase exponentially. If Remedy would lose fans if they didn't drop exclusively on the Xbox platform & instead made their next game multiplat, those are the kinds of fans they could stand to lose.

As far as Quantic Dream, I'm not one of those you are referring to. I think their games deserve to be played by everyone because they are a third party studio. Same with Insomniac. They went fully exclusive w/ SSOD & I haven't seen Sony fans somehow right them off for doing so. Look at the reception for their homecoming in Ratchet & Clank for proof. I don't see any but hurt Sony fans boycotting that game, so I'd assume the same should ring true for Remedy.

Bottom line is if you are so averse to Remedy going multiplat, you are seemingly less worried about Remedy or their games & more worried about having a feather in the cap of your console of choice.

get the feeling they were done with Quantum Break for a while, prob had most of the core game done just needed to get the tv show down and integrate the final actors performances in. Still not sure how they missed some of the dumb gameplay mistakes (missing aim animation) but still loved it, beat it twice, will play whatever Remedy makes.
