I'd rather it play more or less the same by have the 3D chibi graphics from Ever Crisis, I don't want them to change the story like they did with FF7R.

Square Enix revealed a NieR: Automata Masterline figure while one dedicated to Final Fantasy VI is available for pre-orders in North America.
Square Enix revealed that the Final Fantasy VI Masterline figure portraying Terra on the Magitek armor will be available for pre-order tomorrow.
I have yet to play her FF game but the figure for 11k and it looks great the amount of detail. If I had the cash I would grab it and possibly the life size T-800 statue and the giant Devastator figure as well.
6 always seemed cool to me. I couldn't really get into it because how old the game was (i know i'm sorry) but i always wanted to experience it. Honestly i wanted a 6 remake more than 7(i dont feel 7 needed one tbh) but seeing how 7 remake is i don't think i would have wanted a game like that anyways. Something like ff x style with pre rendered backrounds or just fixed camera and turn based with modern graphics would be a dream come true for me. But i think it shall remain a dream unfortunately.
My personal fave is Final Fantasy XIII.

FF VI is awesome, but it seemed to jump to the #1 spot upon all the hate for VII which was everyone's favorite for years upon years. I don't know if it's a hipster trend but regardless. I think FF IV has the best story and most solid gameplay. FF VI is awesome on a lot of fronts with it's story and battle design as well. For me FFX marked the downfall of the series and it's linear design bridged the future of decline. FFXIII was terrible (I do hear the sequels are better). If I could pick a top 3 I would say I liked VI, VII, and then VI. But honestly all the NES/SNES/PS1 titles are excellent. FFX is great, XII is pretty decent but a little outside the normal formula.
As this is not in the main line, I have to say FF Chrystal Chronicles on Gamecube is on the best FF games as well. Everything from the combat, to co-op to story, to characters and level design is just pure fun. I wish there were more asymmetrical co-op crawlers like this one. They seem to be a dying breed of fun that my wife and I can enjoy together.
I've played I thru XIII and VI is my favorite of the group.
