Thank god for the Vita. Without it we wouldn't get half as many RPG's as we do.

dead_pixels2957d ago

Definitely. It's funny hearing people declare the Vita is dead so often when it seems like great games just don't stop coming.

user66660472957d ago

The Vita is dead to everyone except a small niche group. I only use mine for Disgaea.

PoSTedUP2957d ago (Edited 2957d ago )

I use mine for psNow and 400+ ps3 games. Psp games. Ps1 games. Indies. JRPGs, RPGs. Killzonemercs online. WRC4. Pinball arcade. Minecraft. LBP (havent played in a lil while tbh). But i have a backlog of games i havent bought yet including lost songs. And still go back to older games like borderlands2 etc. But yeah its sad sony and nintendo let us down with marketing the vita and WiiU.

S2Killinit2957d ago

that's what I was thinking. How can it be "dead" when it keeps getting all these games?

magiciandude2957d ago (Edited 2957d ago )

The Vita is on life support. That doesn't mean it's dead, but it sure isn't anywhere near as good as it was the first year, and the current state of the Vita is a direct result of Sony having dropped the ball. What are we getting now? A handful of JRPGs that will sell only a small amount of copies worldwide like this one?

Just look at this

A picture I've taken at one of my local Best Buy stores. Sony's fans should be expecting a little more than this from Sony, I would think...

Scatpants2957d ago

I get several games a month for mine. I haven't bought a game for my 3DS since Smash Bros. Thinking about getting it out again for Fire Emblem though.

Eidolon2957d ago (Edited 2957d ago )

Great games? Sure.

Eidolon2957d ago (Edited 2957d ago )

Tell me what is GREAT about this game, really. These games just don't feel new, nothing special, just something that varies slightly from the other Japanese games being released, art, style, story telling, the same.

The over-the-shoulder system looks kind of like Time & Eternity - it's very unique.

CaitSith2957d ago

Aside from its stupid name, it looks good.

dead_pixels2957d ago

Seriously. Ray Gigant sounds like a washed-up wrestler who retired in the 70's and died of syphilis.

Fist4achin2957d ago

You got something against washed up wrestlers who retired in the 70's and have syphilis? We could wrestle right now...

blackblades2957d ago

Ya should of seen the comments on gematsu they were like they ain't getting cause of digital only. To bad for them right.

Junebug2957d ago

They are hipsters alright. ;)

Eidolon2957d ago

I prefer digital now that I got my 64gb stick, but that's filling up pretty quick.

MegaRay2957d ago

Gematsu community love JPN games until they get released and a localization announced, then they find something to hate about said game. Happens for all games there lol

A beginner's guide to first-person, party-based dungeon-crawlers on the PlayStation Vita

The PlayStation Vita has become a haven for RPGs, but there is one particular type that has really made itself at home on the system. People who love first-person dungeon-crawlers with turn-based battles and often customizable parties can find tons on the system. Developers like Experience and Compile Heart have taken to the system. This means people who enjoy level grinding and customizing characters have plenty of options to choose from when looking for a new game to play.

Limited Run Games Interview - Vita, the Physical Indie Market, & the Future

VGChartz's Adam Cartwright: "On 28th October 2015 an interesting shift happened in the market for physical collectors on Vita. A small spin-off from the development studio Mighty Rabbit Games released its first physical game - Breach & Clear - which managed to sell out of all 1,500 copies that had been printed within a few seconds, sparking the birth of a company that would release an unprecedented 34 further titles within two years.

I recently had the chance to interview one of the founders - Douglas Bogart - to find out how the business had grown, how the Vita factors into their plans going forward, and what he thinks about the ever-growing market for indie physical releases as a whole."

Love LRG, bought a lot of games from them already. Windjammers will be next.

Chaos_Order2419d ago

I still own a shrink wrapped copy of their original run of Breach and Clear. :) Since then I've bought several of their releases.

Vita DRPG Ray Gigant To Get Physical Release Courtesy of Limited Run Games

Developer Experience’s Ray Gigant is one of the best dungeon crawlers to make its way to the Vita in recent years. Sadly, the game never saw a physical release when it made its way to Sony’s handheld last year. Thankfully, that’s about to change.

Good to see it get a physical release.

FullmetalRoyale2618d ago

This game not only got me into dungeon crawlers, but now Experience Inc. is a dev I keep an eye out for. It was a fun platinum.

dead_pixels2618d ago

It's definitely one of the better ones to release in recent years. I can't wait until Experience releases Operation Babel: New Tokyo Legacy next month.

FullmetalRoyale2618d ago

Hell yeah man! Aside from the translation errors(which I found endearing) Ray Gigant is a really good time. I enjoyed the story, along with the gameplay.
I actually went back and played Operation Abyss, Mind Zero, and Dungeon Travelers 2.
Hey, have you played Demon Gaze? If so, what are your thoughts on it?
I'm looking to maybe get it after I'm done with Persona 5.

dead_pixels2618d ago

Demon Gaze is fantastic. If you enjoyed Operation Abyss and Dungeon Travelers 2 you'll definitely feel right at home with it.

Protagonist2618d ago

It would be a great shame if you skipped Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 before getting in to P5. The two games made the series what it is today.

FullmetalRoyale2618d ago

I played Persona 3 on PS4, and Persona 4 on Vita, don't worry!

I got the bad ending in Persona 4...

starcatcher2618d ago

Good story and characters too?

FullmetalRoyale2618d ago

I think pretty good. The story wasn't predictable, which I appreciate. It is a fun genre that this is a great entryway into.

Protagonist2618d ago

Make sure to get the good ending, also if not done already, unlock Maries (Hollow Forest) dungeon.
