Let's hope they fix this in the beta before it releases. It's a pity they didn't think of testing it first ...

DiscoKid3356d ago

Mind you, it's an open beta, meaning it's free to play until release, so lots of people are trying to play and get their time in before deciding to buy. Not likely everyone that plays in the beta will buy the game and play at launch, so it would mean less stress on the servers.

divinealpha3356d ago

open betas don't mean playable until release you have no idea what your talking about lol

Genuine-User3356d ago (Edited 3356d ago )

That's the least of its problem. Feels like an average last-gen game.

FullmetalRoyale3356d ago (Edited 3356d ago )

I just don't want this game. But I downloaded the beta, if only so I would know for sure. But when I booted it up it said I was in a queue, and that I had a long road ahead of me (something like that). I said "Nope" and deleted it. Went back to This War of Mine.
Would like to play Borderland 3, though.

pompombrum3356d ago

That's what betas are for, as long as they're not called Capcom, they should be able to use this open beta to iron out these problems for a stable release.

zackdollars3356d ago

They probably rushed the game to release before Overwatch.

jimmywolf3356d ago

while possible their rushing now, they game was already delayed so it doubtful.

i played the first test version on the PC it was ok, the concept of what they created was great, loved it. the class balance was crap thu. you pick X you win, with no skill, try play as few other classes an good luck...

now their boasting 25 different classes so am wondering how their balancing that.

cash_longfellow3356d ago

The balancing is a LOT better now...although Phoebe is still crazy OP'd.

WellyUK3356d ago

it's nothing like Overwatch though, Overwatch is a hero shooter where as Battleborn is a moba.

Being released with overwatch however is the least of it's problems as it feels like a damn free to play game.

cash_longfellow3356d ago

The servers were fine last night as of about 10PM Eastern Time...A couple of hours before that was a crazy long queue wait though.

That one guy 863356d ago

Yeah I played around 6 pm EST and had major issues. About an hour later I was able to play with two buddies over and over. I find this game enjoyable, but I am a complete noob to mobas. At the end of the day I want overwatch.

cash_longfellow3355d ago

Same here being a noob in the genre. Although I will give Overwatch a play too, I can't pass up the Borderlandsish humor and character styles in this one.

It at least deserved them moving it to a solo-able option post server shut-down, IMHO.

Agreed, that would have been the fair and decent thing to do.

Battleborn is Dead - The Need for Game Preservation in the Next Generation

William writes: "Battleborn was not the game I wanted it to be, it probably wasn't the game a number of you reading wanted it to be. But what it undeniably was was a game that a team of hundreds of people poured their hearts and souls into."

Game preservation is important.
Single-player campaign should always be offline. So that some part(s) of a certain game still lives through and can be enjoyed later.

moriarty18891596d ago

Always Online games will always end up like this at some point. Offline SP campaign should ALWAYS be included.

BlackDoomAx1595d ago

Thinking that games ( and in particular this one ) will forever be lost, it makes me sad.

One of the funnier game i played with my friends. I like that one of the reason it failed is that it had many reviews like the one you did; criticizing the gameplay because it's 'too complex': because it had a skill tree and because there was different classes... My personal analysis of its failure is beacause of the Blizzard PR team: they saw a threat in it , and decided to kill it by paying professional reviews and counting on their fanboys to bash it and create a fake 'comparaison war' with it. The saddest thing is that this game will disappear forever. It casts, as others in the same situtation, a dark shadow on the future of video gaming. Hopefully there are and still will be 'pirates' to save and archive these for the future generations, that i hope will someday realize that consumerism is not the only solution.
