"It is about time that I played a game that has a narrative that I can sink my teeth into."

Wow this makes 2 articles you submitted that are positive.

As for the review, I dont agree on a 10 for this game. 10 means damn near perfect. I would say Between an 8-9, but I agree with the points it makes about your choices which make the replay value something I will be going back for and make different choices..So far I have chosen hardline...I cant wait to see what happens next time around.

Gazondaily3317d ago

10 doesn't mean perfect. No such thing as the perfect game.

candystop3317d ago

Exactly! No game is perfect and that's absolutely no game. You guys new to gaming by some years may think so but a 10 in no way indicates the perfect game. This world is filled with different opinions and that's it.

4Sh0w3317d ago (Edited 3317d ago )

Loving this game right now, a little bit of a learning curve at first with 5 or so time powers but once you get the hang of cycling through them -hot damm you can really open up some punishing attacks on your enemies. The visual effects really sell your time powers, best special effects and production value I've seen so far this gen. Very, very well written game, Remedy really nailed it with this game, not like the corny "try hard to be cool" stuff you see in a lot of games, the actors are all top notch so its not surprising they are really believable=

Nah I wouldn't give it a 10, probably a 9+ for me but either way I'm only about half way through so unless there's a major drop in quality, at this point QB is definitely going to be my favorite SP game this gen and a all time favorite for sure.

christocolus3317d ago (Edited 3317d ago )

@Septic

Agreed. 10 doesn't mean a game is perfect it just means the game is so good that the positives far outweigh the negatives. i.e The Witcher 3, Legend of Zelda:Ocarina of Time, Resident Evil 4, TLOU, Shadow of the Collosus, Half life 2, Halo Combat Evolved etc all those games aren't perfect but they scream quality and delivered quite well in all areas( Gameplay, Story, Sound design and even Atmosphere and looks.)

I can't wait to start my QB playthrough this weekend though. The game looks mighty fine. Great job Remedy.

jb2273317d ago

It's gotta amount to a better experience than what this guy outlined...stiff animation, wonky controls, poor aiming, grainy graphics, frame & performance issues...the only thing he praises for the game is the acting & the junction points. I get that reviews are subjective & I get that a 10 doesn't mean a perfect score, but it seems like a lot of reviews are reviewing this video game as a tv show.

If I review a movie a perfect 10 then go on to bash the movie & mention how bored it made me, only to praise the quality of the theater snack bar as making it worthy of a 10, it's gonna seem like as much of a joke as reviews like this one do...

Why o why3317d ago (Edited 3317d ago )

Not to sound like a hater and that but could you really put this game up against those you mentioned christocolos....hand on heart

None of those games were perfect but is this on their level

Gazondaily3317d ago

@Why

"None of those games were perfect but is this on their level"

I haven't played it so I don't know.

3-4-53317d ago

* I agree. There will NEVER be a perfect game and 10/10 does mean perfect so I'd never give a game 10/10.

* Only using 10 numbers isn't accurate enough.

Rating out of 100 or using the decimal system is more accurate.

* You don't measure the length of your arm in miles do you? No, you use feet.

^* You don't measure the length of your finger in feet do you? No, you use inches.

* You don't measure the length of your fingertip in inches do you? No, you use centimeters and then millimeters and so on.

* Only using 10 numbers to rate something is highly inaccurate because an 81/100 is not the same as 89/100. They are completely different and can only be shown when you use a more accurate form of measurement.

neoandrew3317d ago

LOL WAT?!

You can simply do 8.1, 8.9, no need for up to 100, it is the same as 10.

But it should not be 10, just 5, like in school.

7/10 looks good, but it really is 3.5/5, not so good anymore, right?

xHeavYx3317d ago (Edited 3317d ago )

I get all the "10 doesn't mean perfect", but when you call a game " The Greatest Game Ever Played"...

From the review
"I would go as far to say that PS4 owners should consider forgetting their allegiances to Sony and begin supporting both console giants. That or flog the PS4 and join the gaming master race, PC."
Looooooool.

Back-to-Back3317d ago

Did you fail grade school? 10/10 or 100/100 means perfect. Have you ever got a 100% on a test and the professor says well you got most of them right.

rainslacker3317d ago

To me a 10 is a game that someone would love to play, and possibly consider it one of their favorite games. The flaws of the game are overcome by having so much other good stuff which makes them nitpicky by comparison.

No game is without flaws, both in game play and technical execution. Even if a game were made like that, it doesn't mean that it would be good, so the score should reflect more the overall experience that one gets from the game. It's always worth mentioning some of it's flaws, because some of those things may be important to people, but it's always better to look at the overall package.

Gazondaily3317d ago

"Did you fail grade school? 10/10 or 100/100 means perfect"

Its like talking to a brick wall. I said there's no such thing as a perfect game.

You're equating games to school grading systems?

Fml....

darthv723317d ago

The only "perfect game" would be a score of 300 in bowling. this game is not perfect but it's a damn well played hand by Remedy.

It's good and for those who just go with the flow and have no intention to play it then..... I say they need to be examined. this is an example of a game that deserves to be played to really see how they blended the gameplay with the live action stuff.

Anyone who is into story driven narratives should give this a genuine try as it might just surprise them.

Pogmathoin3317d ago

Maybe it is the greatest game he has ever played Xheavy. Its his review, is that an issue for you? You are quick to point out 'xbox fanboys' are quick to defend anything xbox, yet here you are, trolling Xbox articles, believing only things that are posted negative about xbox, no matter how farcical it is.

xHeavYx3317d ago

@pogmathoin
Lol, dude, stop

3-4-53317d ago

@neoandrew - Hence why I said "or use the decimal system".....

dunnyone3316d ago

Never played Super Mario World or Super Metroid? Both perfect.

UnwanteDreamz3316d ago (Edited 3316d ago )

Yes, yes, yes, no perfect games exist yet mental midgets use the very top of the scale to measure flawed games.

Lets just keep devaluing perfect scores so that we no longer have a reference point. The whole argument seems so ignorant.

If perfect games don't exist neither should perfect scores for those games.

Why couldn't you compare review scores to school grades? Especially when lots of reviewers completely adopted that scale.

I've just this moment finished Act 1 & Episode 1. So far so good! The gameplay is fun and the acting is great.

christocolus3317d ago

Nice. The impressions from those already playing the game have been very positive. Can't wait to start my playthrough soon. Remedy did good.

AngelicIceDiamond3317d ago

Glad your having having fun. According to your disagrees your not allowed to have fun and enjoying a game thats getting mostly praise lol salty weak fanboys.

CYCLEGAMER3317d ago (Edited 3317d ago )

I just finished it and I love the game...I feel like I got my money's worth. The story really drew me in and it felt like just enough of everything and not to much of anything for my liking. Everything in the game fit perfectly for my taste.

My only problem with the game is during the last boss, I was having some sort of lighting issue. It went away after I died twice, but they need to fix that ASAP!

babadivad3317d ago

People on this sight love to jump on any article that bashes this game. They'll down vote or ignore the actual gamers who have the game and are playing it. Our opinion isn't valid, the couple sites that bash it is. To mention, this isn't the only game this has happened to but it seems ramped up right now. Maybe because of its high profile. It's making it really hard to stick around. It's almost as contentious as a damn political site.

Ashby_JC3316d ago

I just started playing myself and im liking the acting and the story.

Need to get used to the controls and powers. I just got the dash thing and being able to slow it down and shoot enemies.

There is some slight issues with graphics but nothing earth shattering and the story for me at least outweighs it.

Im a fan of all 3 actors so its cool to play as them and see where the story goes.

I feel if they can keep the story solid all the way through ill be hooked.

hades073316d ago

I have played the first couple of episodes so far and I have to say the game is great. I am loving the gameplay and quite happy with preordering this game.

For many review websites, 10 doesn't always mean perfect.

Ron_Danger3317d ago

Then those review sites need to remove the grading system and just use, you know, words to describe how they felt about the game.

If they give it a 10/10 but that secretly to them that doesn't mean it's perfect, then it just means they're using a number for hits.

Gazondaily3317d ago

"Then those review sites need to remove the grading system and just use, you know, words to describe how they felt about the game. "

No they don't need to remove their grading system.

"If they give it a 10/10 but that secretly to them that doesn't mean it's perfect, then it just means they're using a number for hits."

No it doesn't. Its no secret. No one is saying 10 means absolute perfection. In particular with regard to the subject of reviews, that's ridiculous.

4Sh0w3317d ago

Ron Danger,

Are you new to gaming? 10 does not mean perfection, it simply means the game is worth the highest possible score.

What is perfection in a medium that has no official grading criteria because there is no scientific RIGHT or WRONG answer, like for instance a math test???

Furthermore I don't think any of us want to live in a world where SUBJECTIVE material such as art, music, movies, games, etc. have a superficial metric/grading scale or criteria they have to meet to receive a particular score= there are far too many variables and intangibles that could never be accounted for....besides who would dictate what those standard metrics should be?

AngelicIceDiamond3317d ago

@Ron But yet none of the review sites, metacritic, paid off etc. etc. will not be question if something like Horizon or ANY PlayStation game gets a perfect score. In fact reviews for QB have ppl questioning, swerving, skewing the good scores like its a conspiracy or Xbox is not suppose to get a high scoring exclusive. "How dare Xbox get a high scoring game that's impossible and certainly not right so we have to attack it" is the mentality, like the comment section is some sort of war zone for fanboys.

"it just means they're using a number for hits." That's a new excused then that means IGN, Gamespot and every other sites use numbers for hits only.

The offense force will do the same for Crackdown Scalebound, Recore etc every other Xbox game there is. High scores or not.

rainslacker3317d ago

@Ron

I don't think 10/10 means perfect. It means that the experience is above and beyond other games, and likely is going to be enjoyed if one were to play it.

TLOU got a lot of perfect scores, however there were some things which could have easily been used to count off the score. Those things however didn't ruin the overall experience, thus, the game was about as close to perfect as one could get.

Not sure I'd attribute that to QB just yet(haven't finished it), but it's a pretty good game so far. Not one of the best experiences I've ever had, but I'd probably put it in the 8-9 range.

UnwanteDreamz3316d ago

@Septic

What is ridiculous is using numbers for measurement and then ignoring the most basic principles or trying to reinvent the way numbers and values work.

It's like you people don't understand numbers or measurement. Obviously letter grades make more sense for your argument but keep on saying the same nonsense.

JackStraw3317d ago

I love how everyone is telling you 10 doesn't mean perfect when that isn't what you said. I love when gamers don't know how to read full sentences.

showtimefolks3317d ago

QB is not a 10/10 no matter what any fanboy will say

not a 10/10 and i know 10/10 doesn't mean perfect

10/10's are thrown out way too many times over the past 10 years. it's no longer a big deal. almost every big game is expected to get 10/10

QB is a very good 8.5/10 and even than it's stretching a bit.

jb2273317d ago

I definitely agree that we have more perfect 10's thrown out than ever before...Not sure how long you've been gaming but there was a time (even just last gen) where any game receiving a 10 was nearly unheard of, and it automatically made you take notice of it. Now I've seen so many 10's handed out I don't even bat an eyelash, which is a bit backwards.

Most of it has to do w/ aggregate sites like N4G giving voice to all sites no matter their quality. It's great to be able to get access to smaller sites you may not have otherwise heard of that legitimately know their stuff, but in some instances it feels like reading a day 1 Metacritic user review. They only deal in absolutes, game is perfect or game is garbage, never really show their work & have extreme gaps in logic. Its a shame too because there are some opinions from smaller sites that deserve to be weighted in Metacritic, but a lot of the other smaller sites give them a bad name. Opinions are great, but if you are trying to be a gaming outlet, your entire job is justifying your opinion. If you can't do that then you have no real business putting your stuff out there imo.

showtimefolks3316d ago

jb227

only 27 years of gaming lol

there was a time we only had a handful of games with perfect scores now

MGS 4
GTA 5
Uncharted 2
Witcher 3
GTA 4
MGS 5

this is the list from top of my head and this list is only getting bigger

thing is now when there is a AAA game gamers expect 10/10 or it's not good enough

8/10 is a very good score but many gamers bash that score so now publishers want high 9's or they know gamers may not support it

and i would like to say one more thing

10/10 means perfect. it's a perfect score so if on one hand we are saying no game is perfect than no game should get 10/10

MGS 4 to me is perfect
MGS 3 to me is perfect
Uncharted 2 to me is perfect
The last of us to me is perfect

but these are my personal picks

i think 10/10 should be earned

look at M<GS 5 in the heat of the moment and love for Kojima got the game many perfect scores

but if the game is reviewed today it will get 8.5 to 9 max

GamingIVfun3316d ago (Edited 3316d ago )

Good game, it's an 8 out of 10. Didn't feel like the greatest game ever played.

3316d ago
otherZinc3316d ago

This game is magnificent.

I'm glad people are experiencing Quantum Break for themselves instead of trusting silly negative reviews from so-called Journalists giving Quantum Break 4/10s, that's ridiculous.

I agree with the author. Quantum Break is extremely solid, with some shootouts that shocked me!

People say you can't play this like Gears...I do & love shooting enemies with a Pistol! The other weapons are nice as well, I just like a nice Pistol. My score is about a 9.6 thus far.

Morgue3316d ago

This review is utter garbage and reads like someone took notes while watching video reviews for the game. Either that or it's a review just thrown out there too spite the negative press and comments. Regardless of what positives it has going on the game is still a mess.

I'm only 44% through it and there are moments where the game truly shines but they are so few and far between and hampered with shoddy controls and inconsistent graphics. The story is painfully boring, the music is dated and there was one scene with dude and Beth talking; their mouths were moving but the dialog was off.

I also see that this was submitted by Overload.... He's been on a defensive terror lately in regards too this game.

DevilishSix3316d ago (Edited 3316d ago )

ahahahahaha the perfect score and review are click bait at best. QB's choices are pretty much made meaningless as there is only one ending to this lazy game, so there is no replay value of substance here. Anyone that says there is not being truthful.

This is the worst game Remedy has made in many years Max Payne, Alan Wake, and even Manhunt were better.

Morgue3316d ago (Edited 3316d ago )

The thing about Quantum Break is that I own it so I can say whatever want but it seems that people, including myself that talk about the negative aspects are marked as trolls, playing the game wrong or whatever. I'm sorry but to the people who are raving about this game they have to be over looking its technical problems which are very apparent from what I've been experiencing.

The shipyard battle was awesome yet frustrating because when your powers run out you have to run and gun while trying to get to cover. Then people are like " your playing it wrong, it's not a shooter, use your powers " Then what's the point of having guns?

The mega Monarch soldier... Cool set up scene for a lame ass fight that's over before it began and while there could be multiple ways to engage each battle, do I really want too play through the game again once I beat it? No. I'm not even running through the game and I'm trying to find and collect as much info as I can about the story but those emails are long. Hell, I'd rather read a book.

Quantum Break is the perfect example of a game that tries to throw every technical thing imaginable on the screen at once and it suffers at times because it seems like it can't keep up. It's also an X1 exclusive so of course people will defend it to no ends and that's fine but just admit that the game has noticeable problems and shouldn't get a free pass because it was made by Remedy.

EDIT.

Even look at my comment history in regards to QB and see how they've changed from when the game wasn't released yet till now.

Really odd how this game evokes either lukewarm responses or really strong praises.

Right...time to play this for myself and make up my own falafel.

Will you guys be reviewing it?

Gazondaily3317d ago (Edited 3317d ago )

Yeah we will be. Should be up this week :)

gangsta_red3317d ago

I'm predicting a 7/10 from your site followed by rage and claims of your bias, then a call to ban your site from N4G.

Gazondaily3317d ago (Edited 3317d ago )

Haha this isn't a PS4 exclusive silly. No need to don my stab proof vest methinks (keeps an eye out for Rookie)

Christopher3317d ago

Ban button is at the ready.

Though, seriously, I'm guessing 8/10 to be honest.

Overload3317d ago

"Quantum Break may be exclusive to Xbox One in the console realm and available on PC but I would go as far to say that PS4 owners should consider forgetting their allegiances to Sony and begin supporting both console giants. That or flog the PS4 and join the gaming master race, PC."

What a hilarious way to begin a review.

Overload3317d ago

Why not? I just submit things, I don't always have to agree with them.

Some I do, some I don't. It's not as personal as alot of people make it out to be.

TwoForce3317d ago

Ok ? That word sound like fanboy. Seriously, WTF is this article ?

reaperofsouls3317d ago

Its very easy to knock up a website these days for free. So its often the case that fanboys do this and write over the top +ve/-ve reviews and post them on sites like this one. This "review" screams fanboy agenda to me

the_mack_attack33317d ago

Just seems like your bashing the guy's work and reaping the N4G points from it is all.

blakstarz3317d ago

" gaming master race, PC"

People kill me with that statement.....because people with PC's get bent all out of shape when they see a console game that they want sooo bad on the PC.

MasterCornholio3317d ago

LOL

Sounds like the author included system wars just to gain more hits.

ROFL

BlakHavoc3317d ago

This discredits this guys review lol. Greatest game ever made? And yet it's also getting scores as low as 4?...

christocolus3317d ago

Lol. I think calling it the greatest game ever made is stretching it a bit too far but it doesn't mean great games can't get low scores even titles like Half life 2 , TLOU, Halo CE and Zelda Ocarina of time got some low scores from certain reviewers.

4Sh0w3317d ago

Agreed, christocolus.

I won't argue with BlakHavoc for not believing its the greatest game ever made(I don't think so either), but his rationale of suggesting a few low scores is why it can't be isn't particularly the best way of looking at it.

BlakHavoc3317d ago

I'm just saying this guy is clearly just a fanboy if you read the review lol. Best game ever? I like it but it has its flaws, far from best ever, not even best this gen so far. But everyone's entitled to their own opinion I suppose.

starchild3317d ago

But you're acting like it's an objective fact when it's not. Reviews are subjective judgements.

The game you think is the best game of all time might just be average to me. And vice versa.

BlakHavoc3317d ago

@starchild
QB is a good game and the best X1 exclusive to date imo, I'm just saying that I think this guy isn't giving an honest opinion here. He sounds like his agenda is to only add fuel to a fanboy fire.

For what Remedy wanted to achieve I would give it a 10 but I'm midway through act 3 and gonna sound like a broken record but its marred with various technical issues that have not created an overall AAA experience for me as a player. Would I recommend it to someone? Sure I would but not at $60

frostypants3317d ago

So if any critic praises it, it's "critically acclaimed"? So "Batman v Superman" is critically acclaimed? "My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2" is critically acclaimed?

iceman063316d ago

According to commercials....yes!!! lol

Allsystemgamer3317d ago

I don't think you know what critically acclaimed means.

OoglyBoogly3317d ago

This is the second time I've seen you use "Critically Acclaimed" and I'm still convinced you don't know what that means.

starchild3317d ago (Edited 3317d ago )

Oh, you guys are up to this nonsense again?

Yes, the game received critical acclaim. It was predominantly critically acclaimed, in fact.

Microsoft is using the term correctly, period. (And Free_Fro).

What's more, pretty much every company advertises this way, even good ol' Sony. A lot of you are simply victims of 'confirmation bias'.

Here's what Sony had to say about Killzone Shadow Fall (which has a 73 on metacritic):

"The Highly Acclaimed PS4 Launch Title Makes Great Contribution to the Expansion of the PS4 Platform"
https://www.playstation.com...

And here's what they said about the infamous and Sly Cooper series (various scores in same general range as Quantum Break):

"Sucker Punch Productions, renowned for the critically-acclaimed inFAMOUS and Sly Cooper® series"
https://www.playstation.com...

For comparison, here's what Microsoft said in the article that started all this talk:

"To commemorate Remedy Entertainment and their 20-year legacy of making games, COMPLEX created an in-depth documentary chronicling the origins of the famed Finnish studio, and their work over the last two decades developing critically-acclaimed blockbusters, including “Max Payne,” “Alan Wake,” and now “Quantum Break.”"

Ok, so can we stop with the ridiculous nitpicking and double standards?

CYCLEGAMER3317d ago

@starchild
I am really interested in seeing how someone can damage control your comment...seriously...lol

starchild3317d ago

Apparently they can't, so they just hit the disagree button in frustration.

OoglyBoogly3316d ago

Metacritic = average scores among a wide spectrum of reviews.

77 "Professional" score

76 User score

That is NOT "critically acclaimed". A 90-100 is critically acclaimed. A 77 where I'm from is 7 points above a school "F" grade.

As the scores/reviews sit now this is a slightly above average game.

There, also a disagree. Anything else?

trooper_3316d ago

You don't know what critically acclaimed is either.

Picnic3316d ago (Edited 3316d ago )

That's N4G for you- many only praise Microsoft exclusives through couched, hypercritical, language. Meanwhile, Sony exclusives are often not looked in to as deeply, their arguable flaws are excused as being 'cinematic'. I say this as a PS4 owner. Until Dawn has a plot twist that I could see coming but that's not the problem - the problem is it removed the scare of the game. It's a game set in a cabin where they barely spend much time at all in the cabin which was a shame to me as they plodded through the usual asylum / mine tropes and I'm expected to excuse it as being postmodern.

15 Xbox Games That Should Make the Multiplatform Jump

S2Killinit416d ago

That’s up to Microsoft they want return on there investment. From buying up those publishers. That’s what there in business for. And they made a mistake putting day one exclusive on game pass. So now Microsoft wants to profit any way they can.its called buisness . Just like Sony putting games on pc a year are two after ps5 launch.
So if they can make money off PlayStation and Nintendo. They will do that. And I bet soon real soon they will release some aaa exclusives .and I bet one day it will be same day release

Some of these seem to be exclusive for lack of enthusiasm of the publisher rather than because of deals. A lot of cool indies skip ps for some reason like katana zero, el paso, elsewhere and gunbrela

S2Killinit416d ago

Even more indies skip xbox. We know that right?

Friendlygamer416d ago

Quality over quantity, Microsoft got some really interesting and curated niche games on their machines, maybe in part because of gamepass

S2Killinit416d ago

Quality and MS are not things you bring up in same sentence.

shinoff2183416d ago (Edited 416d ago )

Alot of indies skip xbox to. It goes round and round. Personally I think your off base on that but no need to have the argument.

Friendlygamer416d ago

Between katana zero, valheim, Battletech, el passo... I don't feel off base. maybe ps got a million of light novel games that will never release on Xbox but like I've said, I'm talking about niche games highlights, the 10%.

Heck, it's probably thanks to Microsoft that the s.t.a.l.k.e.r games came to console ps included, meanwhile Sony backwards compatibility continues to be extremely anemic.

And I'm sure most ps5 users are happy to ignore these games and just play wathever new 3rd person action game is trending but it's cool that Microsoft gives some love to smaller audiences and software preservation

shinoff2183415d ago

Again your off base just to be snide. All it's showing though is your ignorance.

One light novels wtf is that even. Ps has plenty of pretty damn good indies.

Speaking of indies and ms being responsible. You know F.I.S.T. of course you do alot of you guys just support gamepass. Well here's a history of Sony being responsible for helping indies. Look up the China project from Sony.

Lastly lol your ignorance showing again. Sony has plenty of games. Personally third person is better then first anyway but that's besides the point. Sony gets so many games that xbox doesn't get because yall don't support the games. Jrpgs being a great example. I personally am not into every Sony first party game. Alot of us aren't. On the other side you don't get to eat often so you gobble up everything. Me personally God of War not my cup, etc. For me I'm into jrpgs and ms just can't touch Sony on those. Again because the Xbox base doesn't support it. Devs dont wanna waste their time or money. Hit me up when falcom develops a game over there.

Speaking of third person narrative games. Aren't yall drooling over hellblade 2. The first one was Sony exclusive at one point. Another not my cup game. Showing we don't have to fall in line and agree we love everything Sony puts out. The facts are they sell though unlike elsewhere(not nintendo)

You are same person as GamerRN, yes?

Abnor_Mal416d ago

They really think PlayStation fans would want to play Redfall? Pfft.

Personally nothing on that list would be any game I’d want to play.

TwoPicklesGood416d ago

I’d absolutely love Hellblade 2, Palworld, and Quantum Break on ps5 as I’m sure tons of others would too. There’s nothing wrong with wanting games from another console and its sad that people try to act like they aren’t interested in them.

shinoff2183415d ago

While indont agree with the games. I agree with the point. Your not wrong.

DarXyde416d ago

Sunset Overdrive makes very good sense. Palworld might.

Don't know about the others. Hellblade II does make sense given the original launched on PS4 first. Quantum Break was a massive letdown for me. I absolutely hated the whole TV show thing and I don't think anyone should have to relive that on modern hardware.

Now that Remedy owns Control, it’s time to reclaim Quantum Break

Alan Wake 2 studio Remedy Entertainment has reclaimed the rights to Control, and now sci-fi hit Quantum Break deserves the same treatment.

Totally agree with that especially when Quantum Break has several references to Alan Wake and Alan Wake make allusions to QB.
I do believe that MS and Remedy can work things out and MS has usually been nice to devs and publishers regarding IP.

Obscure_Observer432d ago

They can't "reclaim" what was never theirs.

Petebloodyonion432d ago

I’m sure we can settle for purchase from MS the IP.

Lightning77432d ago

MS is not doin anything with it. Plus they're doing a multiverse of their own so Remedy needs the IP.

If MS wants to have exclusive let it be timed for 6 months then go to other platforms. MS seems to be, let's say, generous with some if their games as of late.

Or have QB2 be multiplat from the jump, put it on GP. Keeping QB2 as an exclusive is kinda weird these days.

@Petebloodyonion

"I’m sure we can settle for purchase from MS the IP."

Good luck

@Lightning77

"MS is not doin anything with it."

Japan Studio is dead nd Sony isn´t doing anything with Bloodborne either! Yet I can 100% guarantee that there´s a far bigger demand for a sequel, remake or even a remaster for that game from both PS5 and PC gamers.

That been said, why don´t you ask Sony tol sell the IP to Fromsoftware now that according to rumors, they bought Elden Ring from Bandai?

ZwVw432d ago (Edited 432d ago )

Reclaim? That would mean that they actually owned the ip at one point, which they never did (MS always has). Apples & oranges. Remedy always owned the Control ip (just not the publishing), as they have with Alan Wake.

About as likely as them getting the Max Payne rights from Rockstar.

mastershredder432d ago (Edited 432d ago )

Sending you game to a publisher does not mean they get "rights to own it " unless that was part of the contract (monetary/ strategic reasons). 505 was the publisher they worked with to publish and distribute it, it dos not mean that 505 flat out "owned" anything, clearly they did have a special arrangement that made them open to limit their publishing rights. and so here we are and big whoop

Jingsing432d ago (Edited 432d ago )

Yeah get Quantum Break PS5, only if you put it on disc with all the associated movie material.

isarai432d ago

I mean they got the Alan Wake IP back from MS, so I feel like they could get QB back as well

15 games on FIFTEEN pages? That's a NO from me.

Superliminal
Antichamber
Manifold Garden
Portal & Portal 2
The Stanley Parable
Monument Valley
Gorogoa
Thumper
Inscryption
Q.U.B.E. 2
Darq
Quantum Break
Perspective
Inside
The Swapper

IamTylerDurden1729d ago (Edited 729d ago )

I think Inscryption is the best game on that list. PT and Returnal i would offer. Returnal deserves a spot over some of the listed games. Especially after chapter 3. Maybe even Alice MR? Death Stranding? Kojima all together. To much smaller degree Dead Space. I'm spitballing.

I didn't play Thumper enough to see beyond the visual spectacle. Curious choice.

SullysCigar728d ago (Edited 728d ago )

I'd add FEAR and RE7 (when Ethan starts getting visions, especially in the boat) to that list.

Edit: and Here They Lie

Petebloodyonion728d ago

What no Eternal Darkness on the list?

BrainSyphoned728d ago

Only makes me think of gatcha loot crate game specifically built to play your mind into becoming an addict.
