As for the review, I dont agree on a 10 for this game. 10 means damn near perfect. I would say Between an 8-9, but I agree with the points it makes about your choices which make the replay value something I will be going back for and make different choices..So far I have chosen hardline...I cant wait to see what happens next time around.

Loving this game right now, a little bit of a learning curve at first with 5 or so time powers but once you get the hang of cycling through them -hot damm you can really open up some punishing attacks on your enemies. The visual effects really sell your time powers, best special effects and production value I've seen so far this gen. Very, very well written game, Remedy really nailed it with this game, not like the corny "try hard to be cool" stuff you see in a lot of games, the actors are all top notch so its not surprising they are really believable=

Nah I wouldn't give it a 10, probably a 9+ for me but either way I'm only about half way through so unless there's a major drop in quality, at this point QB is definitely going to be my favorite SP game this gen and a all time favorite for sure.

Agreed. 10 doesn't mean a game is perfect it just means the game is so good that the positives far outweigh the negatives. i.e The Witcher 3, Legend of Zelda:Ocarina of Time, Resident Evil 4, TLOU, Shadow of the Collosus, Half life 2, Halo Combat Evolved etc all those games aren't perfect but they scream quality and delivered quite well in all areas( Gameplay, Story, Sound design and even Atmosphere and looks.)

I can't wait to start my QB playthrough this weekend though. The game looks mighty fine. Great job Remedy.

It's gotta amount to a better experience than what this guy outlined...stiff animation, wonky controls, poor aiming, grainy graphics, frame & performance issues...the only thing he praises for the game is the acting & the junction points. I get that reviews are subjective & I get that a 10 doesn't mean a perfect score, but it seems like a lot of reviews are reviewing this video game as a tv show.

If I review a movie a perfect 10 then go on to bash the movie & mention how bored it made me, only to praise the quality of the theater snack bar as making it worthy of a 10, it's gonna seem like as much of a joke as reviews like this one do...

To me a 10 is a game that someone would love to play, and possibly consider it one of their favorite games. The flaws of the game are overcome by having so much other good stuff which makes them nitpicky by comparison.

No game is without flaws, both in game play and technical execution. Even if a game were made like that, it doesn't mean that it would be good, so the score should reflect more the overall experience that one gets from the game. It's always worth mentioning some of it's flaws, because some of those things may be important to people, but it's always better to look at the overall package.

The only "perfect game" would be a score of 300 in bowling. this game is not perfect but it's a damn well played hand by Remedy.

It's good and for those who just go with the flow and have no intention to play it then..... I say they need to be examined. this is an example of a game that deserves to be played to really see how they blended the gameplay with the live action stuff.

Anyone who is into story driven narratives should give this a genuine try as it might just surprise them.

I just finished it and I love the game...I feel like I got my money's worth. The story really drew me in and it felt like just enough of everything and not to much of anything for my liking. Everything in the game fit perfectly for my taste.

My only problem with the game is during the last boss, I was having some sort of lighting issue. It went away after I died twice, but they need to fix that ASAP!

Our opinion isn't valid, the couple sites that bash it is. To mention, this isn't the only game this has happened to but it seems ramped up right now. Maybe because of its high profile. I just started playing myself and im liking the acting and the story.

Need to get used to the controls and powers. I just got the dash thing and being able to slow it down and shoot enemies.

There is some slight issues with graphics but nothing earth shattering and the story for me at least outweighs it.

Im a fan of all 3 actors so its cool to play as them and see where the story goes.

I feel if they can keep the story solid all the way through ill be hooked.

What is perfection in a medium that has no official grading criteria because there is no scientific RIGHT or WRONG answer, like for instance a math test???

Furthermore I don't think any of us want to live in a world where SUBJECTIVE material such as art, music, movies, games, etc. have a superficial metric/grading scale or criteria they have to meet to receive a particular score= there are far too many variables and intangibles that could never be accounted for....besides who would dictate what those standard metrics should be?

In fact reviews for QB have ppl questioning, swerving, skewing the good scores like its a conspiracy or Xbox is not suppose to get a high scoring exclusive. "How dare Xbox get a high scoring game that's impossible and certainly not right so we have to attack it" is the mentality, like the comment section is some sort of war zone for fanboys.

I don't think 10/10 means perfect. It means that the experience is above and beyond other games, and likely is going to be enjoyed if one were to play it.

TLOU got a lot of perfect scores, however there were some things which could have easily been used to count off the score. Those things however didn't ruin the overall experience, thus, the game was about as close to perfect as one could get.

Not sure I'd attribute that to QB just yet(haven't finished it), but it's a pretty good game so far. Not one of the best experiences I've ever had, but I'd probably put it in the 8-9 range.

I definitely agree that we have more perfect 10's thrown out than ever before...Not sure how long you've been gaming but there was a time (even just last gen) where any game receiving a 10 was nearly unheard of, and it automatically made you take notice of it. Now I've seen so many 10's handed out I don't even bat an eyelash, which is a bit backwards.

Most of it has to do w/ aggregate sites like N4G giving voice to all sites no matter their quality. It's great to be able to get access to smaller sites you may not have otherwise heard of that legitimately know their stuff, but in some instances it feels like reading a day 1 Metacritic user review. They only deal in absolutes, game is perfect or game is garbage, never really show their work & have extreme gaps in logic. Its a shame too because there are some opinions from smaller sites that deserve to be weighted in Metacritic, but a lot of the other smaller sites give them a bad name. Opinions are great, but if you are trying to be a gaming outlet, your entire job is justifying your opinion. If you can't do that then you have no real business putting your stuff out there imo.

This review is utter garbage and reads like someone took notes while watching video reviews for the game. Either that or it's a review just thrown out there too spite the negative press and comments. Regardless of what positives it has going on the game is still a mess.

I'm only 44% through it and there are moments where the game truly shines but they are so few and far between and hampered with shoddy controls and inconsistent graphics. The story is painfully boring, the music is dated and there was one scene with dude and Beth talking; their mouths were moving but the dialog was off.

I also see that this was submitted by Overload.... He's been on a defensive terror lately in regards too this game.

The thing about Quantum Break is that I own it so I can say whatever want but it seems that people, including myself that talk about the negative aspects are marked as trolls, playing the game wrong or whatever. I'm sorry but to the people who are raving about this game they have to be over looking its technical problems which are very apparent from what I've been experiencing.

The shipyard battle was awesome yet frustrating because when your powers run out you have to run and gun while trying to get to cover. Then people are like " your playing it wrong, it's not a shooter, use your powers " Then what's the point of having guns?

The mega Monarch soldier... Cool set up scene for a lame ass fight that's over before it began and while there could be multiple ways to engage each battle, do I really want too play through the game again once I beat it? No. I'm not even running through the game and I'm trying to find and collect as much info as I can about the story but those emails are long. Hell, I'd rather read a book.

Quantum Break is the perfect example of a game that tries to throw every technical thing imaginable on the screen at once and it suffers at times because it seems like it can't keep up. It's also an X1 exclusive so of course people will defend it to no ends and that's fine but just admit that the game has noticeable problems and shouldn't get a free pass because it was made by Remedy.

That's N4G for you- many only praise Microsoft exclusives through couched, hypercritical, language. Meanwhile, Sony exclusives are often not looked in to as deeply, their arguable flaws are excused as being 'cinematic'. I say this as a PS4 owner. Until Dawn has a plot twist that I could see coming but that's not the problem - the problem is it removed the scare of the game. It's a game set in a cabin where they barely spend much time at all in the cabin which was a shame to me as they plodded through the usual asylum / mine tropes and I'm expected to excuse it as being postmodern.

It's the Xbone's The Order 1886, a good game that fails to live up to the hype (minus the insane graphics of the PS4 exclusive), but it's still worth playing.

I gotta disagree. The game is interesting and fun enough but the overall graininess and constant ghosting distract me from enjoying the game's visuals. Also the textures blur every now and then and that's also distracting. Shooting is fun enough though and the time power mechanic is cool. Story is also interesting but I have mixed feelings about the quality of the live action segments. I'll be starting act 4 when I get off work tonight but so far it's floating around a low 7 for me. Max Payne and Alan Wake are better games, in my opinion

If a game gets a 10/10 in a review, it is seen as a must buy. That is the purpose of reviews, to tell others hey this game is worth your time based on the score you give. That's what all reviews in any medium are for. From a monetary standpoint, $60 for 6-7 hrs worth of gameplay and story. You are telling gamers, many who make $7.25/hr that this game is worth roughly 9-10 hrs of their work week. For those who can afford to splurge and buy whatever they want it's fine. I bought the order, did I think the game itself was decent? Yes, but would I give it a review score 10/10 and tell others to part with thsir money at $60? No, I would not. At best, this is a $20 experience. Play it once, then shelf it, for a long time. As an xbox one flagship game meant to breathe new life and give gamers something new to play for hours and hours of fun this game solely misses the mark. It's not a must have experience. It does stutter, the combat is less involved and intuitive from the masterpiece this article heralds. It's a solid 6/10 for a $60 AAA title, nothing more. A game can look pretty, but if the gameplay isn't thwre, it doesn't deserve such high praise bc most important of all, gameplay makes the game.

Most reviews I've read are saying it's in the 7 to 10 hour range depending on how fast a person tends to move through games. That's similar to the time it took me to beat Uncharted. Should that game have received the same hate and been marked down? I don't think so. Because I enjoyed the journey and it was long enough.

I don't get why people will buy a two hour movie for $20 which always plays out the exact same way every time you watch it, but an 8 hour game that will play out differently every time you play it is somehow not worth it? Doesn't make sense to me.

I haven't played far yet, but I'm loving the gameplay so far.

In my experience of gaming, games have taken an average of 8hr to complete. It's taken me around 1.5hrs to complete each of the first 2 acts. Idk how many acts there are (6 i believe) that'll add up to 9hr. Which would match the 8-10hr I've heard people say. Game comes with alan wake to up the value and in my case a $15 credit. I'm essentially paying $35 for the game, $10 for AW and $15 for the credit.

That's for those who don't already own Alan wake. Your experience? 95 in your username? If that's indict I've of your age, it's your generations continued of acceptance of this as the norm. It should be railed against for that price. It takes more than 7 hrs to beat a lot of indie games and they don't even have cuts cents and they are far cheaper. You adding those monetary calculations only address your delusion into trying to further insulate yourself from what essentially is a bad buy. Don't worry, I feel you. I did the same with the order 1887, but I've learned from that mistake. This game is a $20 game no matter how you look at it. There's absolutely no reason to play through it again until you've forgotten about the story and let me tell you, this story isn't good enough to sit there and give it a 10/10 and tell everyone to go buy it. Lastly, if a game has to come with another game to get you t ok pay full price, it's not added value, it's clever marketibg. Wake up you sheep.

I've been satisfied with the games i buy. I have a buying system i follow and yes the $15 credit and Alan wake made it a $60 otherwise i would've waited till under $40. Yes that's my age and bs linears games have always averaged 8hrs from max payne to hitman. like I've said before i havent been burned by a bad game or bad buy since the ps2 era. Htf doesn't adding games add more value? I never played alan wake it being including makes this bundle to me. Instead of hating on my taste and values get on your own jock and stick to your $5 buys 😆 meanwhile I'll be enjoying Quantum break, Alan wake and my $15

It's a clever marketing tactic that works on the younger crowd. I've been gaming longer than you and no game that is 7 hrs long with cutscenes that comes with another old relic that's already been played is worth that price. So, if you owned a 360 last gen and played Alan wake and already own it. How would this be worth it? Reviews are for the masses, this is not a good buy. Sorry you got bent out of shape. Your system offers nothing new and in the end you only lose out. Ps. I rented it for $3 one day, beat it and returned it. I'd say I got my monies worth. Your system is crap lol

You clearly haven't played it. I've done two acts and skipped the show (seen the first 2 ep before playing) and it's been 3hrs already(act 2 part 3 was nothing but walking/ maze puzzle solving, tho it was good. I got crushed by the falling barrel lol) i can instantly know rather someone played or not based on there comments on the show. (even if they skipped it) those that haven't played have a misconception about the show. Even i did before playing.

Free money and a bc game I've never played but heard great things about. I'm not broke like some people and support devs for their hard work. Proof you never played it because you just said it had long cut scenes when the cutscenes are average time just like the game as a whole and as a bonus it comes with an awesome TV SHOW IN BETWEEN EACH ACT (biggest misconception to those that havent played it thinking the show is the cut scenes and a main part of the game) I'm happy and satisfied and that's all that matters. Wonder if you can say the same lol.

Oh btw can you name me 5 big name linear games over 10hrs long from last gen (hopefully they backwards compatible I might like to play them)
