GMD: Back in 2010 I had to review the original Demon’s Souls on PS3. We did not get along. While I appreciated it trying to stand out from the crowd with its bastard hard difficulty and measured approach, it wasn’t for me. There’s a fun to challenge ratio I find acceptable in games and the unresponsive combat and miserly checkpoints just didn’t sit personally.
By the time Dark Souls appeared, I was relieved to see another member of staff take it on instead. And that was the last I saw of the series until From Software released Bloodborne in the PS4. Our Souls-friendly staffer was yet to grab Sony’s new machine, so I found myself handling the beta and review. Then something strange happened, I started to like it.
TheGamer writes, "Some weapons resist the test of time."
The Nerd Stash: “Whether you’re here to gloat about your victories or to see what the fuss is about, we present to you the hardest bosses in the Souls series.”
Dark Souls 3 is easily the most replayable game in the Dark Souls Series. But, is the game good enough to spend nearly 10 hours killing Silver Knights alone?
These games bore me to tears. I don’t mind the difficulty it’s just the constant killing the same enemies over every time you rest that makes it so monotonous
I'm in the same boat.I've always stayed away from all Souls games because of the unforgiving difficulty.I dived into the world of Bloodborne & I loved it which I'm still playing.I'm going to get DS3 also because it looks & somewhat plays like Bloodborne from what I've seen. The author of this article haves my hopes up that it's going to be a good ride!
Should I be concerned about frame rate in this game? DS2 first sin 50 fps was a problem on xbone for a lot of reviewers compared to PS4 60 fps. Now this game is running 30 fps ps4 and below that on xbone. Is 30 fps suddenly not a problem for dark souls? I enjoyed DS2 first sin on console
One. More. Long. Week.
I tapped out of Demon's Souls after a few bosses back when it released, knowing that it was a great game, and that I was just not patient enough to get past the difficulty at the time. Now I'm very eager to borrow it off a friend, dive back into the Souls series, and move on to Dark Souls after Demon's is complete. Bloodborne will be one of the first titles I pick up on PS4
