i dont know about you but i bought my ps3 to play HD games on my big screen tv . Why would anybody pay so much money for there entertainment system to play fkn mario. I guess people have choices so i should s.t.f.u.

slave2Dcontroller5734d ago (Edited 5734d ago )

I think its pretty cool man. Aint nothing wrong with paying homage to the Ol'School every now and then. The sweet thing about it is you have the option to play Nintendo games on your PS3. Its like...like a cardinal sin.

I would actually DL but the roms seems to missing sounds which kinda turns me off about it. If they ever fix this, I'm all over it. RC Pro Am, SMB3 here i come(Again).

cmrbe5734d ago

know what NES games are on it?.

slave2Dcontroller5734d ago (Edited 5734d ago )

is that damn near every nes game that exist. Roms are tiny files so most emulators include almost the entire nes library. I used to have an emulator called NEStern and it was jam packed with games. It had everything I ever wanted and more. I'm guessing this will be no different.

Silogon5734d ago (Edited 5734d ago )

1 - I don't know about you but the nes is still one of the best systems ever made and will always remain as such. You making the claim that just because a game is in hd it is automatically better is wrong. Way wrong. No game compares to Zelda, super Mario bros, Crystalis and a few others. to this day they hold a special place for anyone who experienced them when they 1st dropped.

1.1 - Yes, it is very cool, if not somewhat off putting when playing real emulators for pc or mac cause they're usuallly fully functional and are speed set to perfection. This emulator is a little off on key areas.

1.2 - the ones you drop into it yourself.

1.3 - Only the ones you drop in it yourself.

Now, with all this said, the emulator here is problematic. It's easy to install and run but there is no sound. there is no interpolation support. there is no buffer or sync support. there is no input support. what am I saying? Well, it's cool and hopefully this paved the way for more and more emulators but until then play the real thing or at very least emulatre them on your pc's.

cmrbe5734d ago

slave.

Thats pretty cool then.

Schoolea. Its always nice to have options. It dosen't hurt eh?.

What would be the icing on the cake is a SNES emulator.

Silgon. True. No matter how long i stopped playing these old school games i still enjoy playing them again when i do.

I played SMB3 on it last night.
Only down side is lack of sound, and NES games have bad ass music

Panthers5734d ago

if you find a rom with sound, will it work? I know I saw one with sound so I was just wondering

Polluted5734d ago

Generally they all have sound man. This emulator just doesn't have sound support yet. Honestly it's more of a curiosity at this point as it still runs a but laggy and there's no sound of course, but it's a great first step. It shouldn't take these guys long now before they have this thing up and running with sound support and 100% speed as well.

Dyingduck5734d ago

It's about having the "option" and "opportunity" - the choices; if it doesn't hurt, who cares?

Something is always better than nothing

JC Magnus5734d ago

Just tried doing this myself and it worked like a charm. I was kinda shocked to see how easy it was to do, considering most emulators on consoles, etc. require modding and what not.

Can't wait 'till they add sound!

PikkonX5734d ago

This is why everyone should keep a regular Xbox around. Plays just about everything from Atari up to N64 with no hardware modification.

Games That Were Bad on Release, But Are Now Great

BLG writes, "Some of the most popular games have had a rough start, with some of them being downright unplayable.

Despite that, developers have managed to turn it around for them and make their game worth playing. Here are some games that had a rough start but were pretty great."

Good list..hoped to see Street Fighter 5 there..and it is.

Vits1d 20h ago (Edited 1d 20h ago )

Sea of Thieves... I'm not disagreeing that the game has improved in terms of content. But I feel that the most significant change between now and its release is actually the public perception. Nowadays, most people are aware that the game is a multiplayer PvP-focused experience first and foremost, and not "Black Flag made by Rare". Consequently, people dismissing the whole experience because the single-player aspect is lacking or the story is plain are much less common.

darthv721d 18h ago

Several years ago, i submitted an idea to Rare that would change up the mechanics of battling opponents in the game. whereby if you died in battle, you turned into a skeleton warrior and had to fight your way back to the land of the living. It was an interesting twist on respawning and would allow the player to experience both sides of a battle.

I keep hoping to see something like that get added to the game.

They consider FO 76 & ME Andromeda to be great now 🤭

Every game in the last 2 decades...

INMATEofARKHAM1d 14h ago

It's sad that this quick retort is more often than not true... The industry's acceptance of release and patch has gone too far.

gunnerforlife1d 3h ago

Days gone! By the end of the game I couldn't drop it down! I went around so many hours killing zombies! It was addictive by the end.

S2Killinit23h ago

That game was just plain good game. It didnt improve, it was just good.

gunnerforlife21h ago

I don't know, I got it abit late, and struggled for a few days, and then all of a sudden it just got good!!
