BioShock PS3 - Leipzig Trailer

Matt Banks from LootNinja writes: 2K released a new trailer for BioShock for the PS3 at Games Convention over in Leipzig. Nothing earth shattering or stuff we haven't seen. What bothers me is the framerate. Yes, it's just a trailer. But even the Xbox 360 trailers ran a nice normal framerate. Is 2K having issues getting the game up to speed on the PS3? Or did the video just encode bad? I'm hoping for the latter. October is coming up quick, so we'll know sooner than later.

I can see a framerate problem with the PS3 version , the xbox360 copy ran smooth with no problem at all

everything looked really smooth and natural. i did see a couple of framrate hiccups(brought up by site) but were minor. and since this is a trailer i don't think it'll be a big deal.

The rest looked fine though.

you can never tell for sure if the framerate had a hiccup due to the game or due to your computer playing the video.

I'm so happy this one is coming to PS3 so I will get to play it. I was thinking about buying it for the computer, but now i wont have to! I can already tell this one is a twisted, artistic gem.

It's awesome how you got 8 disagrees without one person pointing out what, if anything, you said wrong. You're right though the game looks completely different than the 360 version but not better or worse. It just looks like a PS3 game this time around.

All ps3 games have a grainy filtered almost film-like appearance to them. It makes the games look and somehow feel different. It kind of kills some of the finer details but for every upside there's a down. You can totally tell it's a PS3 game though. Play through almost any ps3 game now and you'll notice they all share the same look with the filter and a lot of gold hues.

This should be a day one purchase for anyone who owns only a ps3 and likes shooters though. The added content can only make an already great game even better.

mmm you might be onto something there. ive noticed that most blu-ray films have a grain effect to them, maybe its what happens to media on a blu-ray disk?

cause it's only you guys that say it's not as clean as the 360 version.

and every website and magazine hell even the developer said that it looks slightly better for the ps3. not saying that that makes it any better to play. just saying don't come on here and say it doesn't just cause your a 360 guy just be glad you got to play it a year and a half ago and shutup.

as for the guy above. what blu rays have you seen that look grainy? the only one i've seen that looks grainy is 300 and it was supposed to look that way.

when i played through the 360 version whenever the games physics kicked in after u killed someone it would be all choppy.... but damn after watching that trailer it just reminded me how bomb this game is.

I seriously doubt the game has framerate issues, IGN made no mention of one in their preview. Seeing as its a GT video I'm guessing its just the compression.

It does look good though! Ps3 finally gets a AAA title you can actually play ;} I am on my third playthrough and this game will not dissapoint, although the 360 version has the option of playing at 60fps, anyway this game is so good it should be enjoyed by all.

I have all three consoles. So no Fanboyism here. I have already played the game on my Xbox 3fixme (on my 4th console). Based on this clip, it looks better on the PS3. I plan to buy it for the PS3. Does anyone know if it will be released at a reduced price?

One look at your comment history and your bubbles and anyone can see that you're a sony fanboy trying to appear neutral. Lie about how you've had so many rrods and how you know for sure the game looks better and throw in a 3fixme remark while you're at it. The game doesn't look better it looks different.

If lower quality textures and a grainy film appearance with a better draw distance are your preference then that's great. To say one looks better is just silly. The 360 version will have had better textures and an extremely clean look overall. The ps3 one will look like a ps3 game and will still be great looking but in different ways.

Its a good game. Just buy it.

Although its a bit old already when it will release on the PS3, 1.5 year before played on the 360. And if I remember right, PS3 owners where then screaming they would play it on their PC's so I guess PS3 users won't buy it anymore because that's always their defence on games that don't come to the PS3.

if it's a good game then it's a good game no matter how long ago you played it. and you say it's been a year and a half. and the 360 still hasn't had a game thats as good as this one.

if metal gear came out for the 360 a year and a half from now. guess what? it would still be a great game.

and for the pc thing the only reason we say that is because you guys don't actually have exclusives. if this game doesn't sell great for the ps3 it probably DOES mean most of us played it on the pc.
