Currys PC World isn't exactly where you'd expect to find cutting edge technology. Mainstream laptops, televisions, and printer cartridges, sure. But the future of tech? That one's best left to the stores that don't have the retail reputation and technological expertise of a small, slightly haggard brick. So it was with some surprise that I learned the retail chain will be showcasing the HTC Vive in three of its stores in Leeds, Reading, and London.
Viveport, the VR retail platform from HTC is now giving developers 90% of their game revenue, instead of a 70/30 spilt like Steam.
It could be free and it wouldn't matter at this point. There isn't really a PCVR Market and I say that as a PCVR user. It is modders and enthusiasts with a few retail products on Steam.
Are you planning a Halloween Party this year? How about those friends and family that live far away? Vive has a plan for you.
I'm pretty sure everyone is going to the VR chat Halloween Party already.
Morels: Homestead, a relaxing game in which you can create your own unique homestead, is available now for PC VR.
ohh Vive ..i want to be positive about the system (more competition is always good)..but there is a saying about these occasions..."where are you going naked to a field full of cucumbers??"
I'm not sold on VR yet but definitely interested. One thing I like about the vive though is that it works with you existing library of games. So it's open platform. That's huge considering I own hundreds of games on steam. Not having to re purchase them on competing VR platforms is much more appealing.
I still want to try them all before I commit.
