Well Wii sports and Super Mario were packaged in games and really shouldnt count.

Not really because most ppl who bought wii was for wii sports (hence why wii sold so many consoles) Also pack in games like mario are system sellers.

Lots of games get packaged with consoles. Shouldn't disqualify them. COD and GTA games are routinely put in console bundles. I don't see people saying their numbers don't count. lol Besides its a fair assessment to say the reason why most people even got an NES for example was to play SMB so its a no brainer to just buy it as a set. I got mine with Duckhunt and SMB together.

Yeah I started with that duck hunt Mario combo. Mine was second hand and unboxed tho but still loved much the same was only about 4 so just wanted the console.

Wii Sports was only included with the Wii in the west - rest of world had to purchase the game separately.

Theyre also counting Wii Sports resort, that game wasnt a pack in title and sold over 30 million units.

In both the case of Super Mario and Wii Sports, they weren't the only titles in the series. Its the success of the series overall that is most important.
