IGN GC 2008: ArmA II Preview

IGN writes: "From the developers that brought us Operation Flashpoint and the first ArmA comes the latest installment in the hyper realistic military simulation genre. I met with Marek Spanel from Bohemia Interactive Studios to discuss how the project has evolved.

ArmA II is set in a fictional country but is based on real geographic locations and highly researched political situations. Even the plants, insects, and local wild life are all taken directly from the region. What has been revealed of the story is eerily familiar to the current situation in Georgia. A group of US Marines is stationed in a fake country near Russia with separatists and nationalists all struggling for power. The Marines end up caught in the middle of the conflict and, depending on your actions, will end up shaping the outcome."

There have been quite a few other instances of games being mistaken for real life content, in some rather more serious situations. So in this list, we take a look at some of the few times games were mistaken for real life.

What I love more than the viewpoints are all the hiding spots on the buildings. All the same and too many of them. Looks kinda weird, but apparently not suspicious enough.
